Military History

Commuted the past week listening to History on Fire on the Black Hills War.

Always has a fascination with the Little Bighorn, the Lakota's greatest victory also sealed their fate. Sad in a way, noble folks

It was their Isandlwana, a victory that ensured their ultimate destruction.

Francis Marion Bailey was my 4th great-grandfather and I found his Prisoners of War papers.

That is really cool.

I've not got a copy of the record of my 4x grandfather handy, he was captured at The Wilderness and his record there ends until an update in 1937 that says it is assumed he died as a POW at Florence, SC.

Just picked this up. It has a bunch of information on the people since its just about a county.
