Mike Martz OC for 49ers being talked to. Not sure if he would be a good fit. Seems like a Fulmer Clone as far a style.

I talked with a former player, played in 68', who is still very activein UT athletics. He said that Mike Martz was being talked to by a group of supports to gauge his interest.

Are you crazy? Martz will take the offense to another level. He also will bring discipline to this team. He also loves speed. Might just be a great fit. Recruiting tool could be his years when he was over the Stl. offense.

wow.

personally, i thought he was pretty abysmal as a head coach...doesn't like to run the ball and consistently made dumb decisions going for 4th downs as HC of the Rams...

My source told me as well as golf buddy at Spring Creek who works for Sexton's group that Fulmer refused to resign after the Auburn game. From that point on talks have progressed as to the buyout number and how his resignation will be handled. Transition into a position with the University seems to be a sticking point. Fulmer is undecided if he wants to step away completly or transition.

Can Martz recruit in the southeast? Seems like a real stretch candidate IMO, regardless of the basis behind this rumor.

Well my sources have indicated that the only thing holding this deal up is that CPF wants the 3rd base coaching postion on the softball team. The Weekley's balked at first but have stipulated he must wear a helmet.

He was the OC/HC for that incredible offense the Rams had in 1999-2001.

Good God....................no.

If this administration 'settles', I'm going to be even more unhappy than I am with Fulmer.

This is a PREMIERE job and people like Cowher, Davis, and all the other top guys will have interest in it.

Just because you say so doesn't make it true.
