Would be a good fit at UT if Butch doesn't work out. Spent time with Cutcliffe at Duke and is a southern guy. Also if he brought his defensive coordinator along, Jim Leavitt, it would be even better. What say you Volnation?

Butch left Colorado at the altar to come here then they hired MacIntyre. MacIntyre won't leave them to come here.

35-50 record, 2 winning seasons out of 7 as a HC, never coached in a bowl game as HC. No thanks.

Keep those damn Yankee carpet baggers out of my university! The South will rise again! Seriously, what does being from the South have to do with anything?

Took over 2 extremely poor situations at San Jose State and Colorado. I get your point though. Maybe he will have sustained success at Colorado.

This is the garbage we keep getting. A guy that has shown over time hes a loser. Look at his freaking record man. Listen, this guy is not going to win anymore games for us than Butch. Bad hire, next

Not a thing. Referring to his playing days at Vandy and Georgia Tech. What a tough crowd on here these days.

Granted, he has turned around 2 horrible programs. Maybe it is the similarities to Brady Hoke that scare me.

He's got ties to Nashville and the Vandy program. He's a great guy, an up n comer, done well at other place but I'd rather not. Reeks of Bill Battle except with more experience

Dude was 9-27 at Colorado prior to this season at Colorado. Imagine him even going close to that here .. people would go nuts

Agree, he has turned around 2 programs, so his record isn't impressive and he didn't stick long enough to compile more wins at San Jose State. He is going to be a good ne but not sure we can take a risk.

I don't know much about Mike's recruiting. Does he have it in him to do what has to be done to sign top classes at UTK?

Why not? I don't see how the two points you made have any relevance/are related.

Tennessee is a much better job. McIntyre also has roots in Tennessee, he played Highschool football in Brentwood iirc. If we targeted and then offered him, why in the world wouldn't he listen/be very interested?

His salary is 2.2 million at CU. He would be very interested in the UT job.

He was a little ballboy at UTM while his dad was head coach there in my college days...

Also, if you watched his press conference after the UTAH game sat....you would be ecstatic that he speaks from his heart...not so much individuals and resilliency (sp)

Yes he was at UTM when his dad was head coach there. Comes from a good coaching family and I as well remember him as a little boy always around the players and it did not matter what sport was going on. He was always holding, throwing or shooting some typde of ball. I as well would not mind giving him a shot but I am afraid lyle is here at least one more year. His brashness and sh**ty attitude is worn on most everyone. He is so arrogant that he cannot even admit there is a problem. I do wish he could get it done but we shall see.:mf_surrender:

Absolutely not..I'm sure he is a great guy but he is winning this year with a team full of Sr's and the 2 best teams Colo has played is Much, which beat the brakes of them and USC..both losses to teams that they have played who are currently ranked. Colo will be back to a 6-6 or worse type team next year..would not be an upgrade at all and based on coaching history it would be a downgrade. We gotta think much bigger on our next hire..No more guys that have feasted on mid conference teams or who have had one good year. We need a guy who has been successful at a school that is used to winning and can handle the stress of being at an elite school.
