I've actually heard his name mentioned on local radio on numerous occasions this past week. Of course, there were 10-15 others mentioned too.

i have mixed feelings about Leach. Can his offense work in the SEC? I think so but I cannot see it working consistently. Gotta be Physical and have a running game to be competitive in this league

Just say no to Mike Leach. Circus sideshow offense, substandard defense. Hasn't won his conference in the 8 years he's been at Tech.

We need to revive this man and give him the headset.

Peyton's senior year Ky led in passing and total offense.

They said the same thing about Spurrier's pass happy offense at Florida.

I fail to see how Tech could reasonably be expected to win their conference, considering that the last 8 years have included the tail end of Nebraska's dynasty, the occasional flutter out of Colorado, divisional opponents Oklahoma and Texas, and the rise of Missouri and Kansas. Heck, even Iowa State looked good for a couple of those years.

His team does have a running game...2 rb's with 70+ carries averaging over 5 yards/carry. 23 rushing td's. Obviously not as an integral part as the passing game, but they can run it.

Mike Leach? No! His teams play no defense, and with that run and shoot offense, they mainly throw a bunch of screens and slants the whole game, with no running game.

I don't know what to make of Leach as a candidate. Sure, it would be fun to see the ball being thrown around and all those points going up on the board, but ultimately, in my opinion it's going to be defense and the running game that are going to win in the SEC.

Brent Musberger was on PTI yesterday and stated that Leach was an offensive genuis. He also said that he ran a very undisciplined practice. I like the offensive genuis part but I'm not sure we need the undisciplined practices.

dat scares me a lil'. look i think leach would be okay if he brought in a great d-coordinator. I would rather have kiffen, peterson, mendenhall, davis, and patterson in dat order.

I will admit that I do enjoy watching the Texas Tech offense but I don't honestly think Leach would fit the "mold" that Hamilton and the other big boosters will be looking for. The guy does seem a little weird if you ask me.

Winning with an offense such as his is the exception rather than the rule, you sited the lone exception. Championship teams are almost always built around solid defense and an offense that can control the ball when needed. Leach's system does neither. And 8 years is plenty of time to win in the big 12. It's been a 2 team conference since he was there. Mike Leach would be a bad choice for the Vols.

i'll pass. there's a reason he's been there 8 or 9 years and has still even yet to make a big 12 championship appearance.
