I hear absolutely NOTHING about Mike Heimerdinger as a potential candidate. Why not?

I know he wasn't a graduate assistant in 1986 but that guy is OUT now and we need to face it. He's not pulling a Saban and we can get off of the Gruden love boat. I wanted Gruden too but it's time to move on.

Heimerdinger seems like a great fit because he's hard nosed ( what we need now ), an offensive guru ( "Heimerdinger is Bill Belichick-like in that he loves spending countless hours in the laboratory coming up with innovative game plans." ) and, personally, I'd rather have an NFL assistant coach like the dinger rather than an up and coming college coach.

Call me crazy.

I'd like to see people talking about this guy!

Leach? I don't get fired up about him.
Kiffin? Seems too young and inexperienced.
Davis? Again, nothing to get too fired up about.

I say give the Dinger a call and let's see what could happen.

Honestly, there isn't anyone out there that makes me jump up and down now that Gruden is out so let's check out Heimy. Why he hasn't been offered a head coaching job yet is beyond me ( unless he has and we don't know it ). And don't give me the, "well the fact he hasn't been hired should tell you something." Sometimes this boils down to timing and marketing.

Interesting read for ya here and the source of my quote above:

Let's not touch anything that is working for the Titans.

Yeh, I concede that you have a point here. It's nice to see ONE Tennessee team doing nicely.

But, hey, let 'em share the love. Maybe he'd commit if they'd let him wait til they're done winning 'em all and winning the Super Bowl.

How can you not get fired up about Butch? I just don't understand people. No to Heimerdinger BTW.

I am not so sure about him. The titans are doing well so far but their defense is outstanding. The offense is only ok. There are really no superstars on offense though. I really had high hopes but young but it doesnt look like thats going to work out.

Might as well add Mike Singletary to the list of potential crappy coaches people will bring up. 3rd and goal from the 3 with 4 seconds left and you run with Michael Robinson? That is exactly the kind of football that the posters on this board apparently want to see.

I realize that the chances of us getting gruden would be the chances of catching osahma bin laden but is that a for sure that his name has been marked off the list or is that just ur gut feeling?

This makes no sense, Tennessee is successful because we have an outstanding D and a QB now that won't loose us games. Our offense is mediocre, something we have plenty of in K-Town.

Looked like a Sanders call

It's not like their offense is that prolific either. I would prefer a proven recruiter like Davis.

We just escorted out a proven recruiter. Seems there's more to it. Davis has an average record as a head coach......probation or not.

Tommy Tuberville has a better record and is a good recruiter. I hear he may be available.

In regard to the Titan offense...they have one star player and he's a rookie that's still green.

Considering their super-starless roster I'd say all the more reason Dinger is "the man" as the previous poster stated.

I'm not giddy with Hamy. I would choose Davis, Kiffin, Leach, and even Petterson. I'm a little sketchy on Petterson though I heard he was a scientologist.

Hello. "Chris Johnson" is a superstar in the making. The Titans' offense is much better than you're giving credit. Fisher is a Chicago schooled coach, so the offense will never be the glory getter such as Dallas, but it is a very good unit who makes few to zero mistakes. They seem to score enough points to win 9 games out of 9 this year. Their averaging 20+ points per games which is good in the NFL.

Heimerdinger succeeds in the system Jeff Fisher gives him...he failed in New York and didn't do all too great in Denver...

NOOO don't mess up my Titans!!! They are the ONLY thing making Tennessee look good!

Plus, we couldn't even talk to Dinger until after our Superbowl game in Febuary!
