Mike Hamilton hired Martin over Marshall AND Dooley over Sumlin

Marshall was not interested in the UT job - he's happy in Wichita and wanted stay with the kids he recruited and a program that is returning to the national spot light. I'm happy for him and the Shox. Now... as someone said earlier... get over it and let's get behind the Vols. GBO!

Right he just interviewed for it twice but he isnt interested.

I love the hypocrisy on this board. Butch sucks because Dooley beat him. However, Cuonzo doesn't get the same benefit for beating Wichita. Captain Hindsight starts this thread to show how smart he is, should stick to the his company's extra value meal knowledge.

The saddest part of it all is the fact that Captain Hindsight saw the highlight of witchita beating probably the most overrated #1 in basketball history, and deciding to come on here and b&@$h and moan about a hire two years after the fact.

I know Marshall interviewed around 2001 when Peterson was hired but I do not believe he interviewed after Pearl left.

Doesn't change anything... he's turned down a lot of big paying jobs to stay at Wichita State where he's happy.

You couldn't be more wrong - I think. I understand Marshall wanted the UT job badly when Peterson was hired in 2001. I do not believe he interview when Martin was hired. I know there was some interest in him on this board (and would not surprise me if I was the first to post his name wishfully); however, I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT MARSHALL INTERVIEWED WHEN MARTIN WAS HIRED. One of us is acting like an ass - who is it? Can you point me to the article where Marshall interviewed with UT the year Martin was hired? :)

Somehow I doubt that a lame duck AD made that decision. If he did then I'm even more scared about the UT administration than I already was.
