I know this will be like fingers on chalkboard to a lot of you, but Neyland really DOES need to drop to 95000 or so. Dammit, I want a chairback and a cupholder, no matter where I sit.

Yeah, thats a great idea, lets make Neyland even less intimidating than it has already become. We need as many people packed into that stadium as we can get.

I love the new look and can't wait for the games....TBA will actually have the look of a basketball arena! My only complaint is that the student seats are pretty bad...bring them down, give them a place where they can factor more into the game.

When you have to put up curtains to hide empty seats from television coverage and snide remarks from media and opposing fans, what have you really lost? This was a great decision. The arena was overbuilt thinking that the rabid fan base from football would carry over to basketball after the successful Mears and Devoe era, which really never happened. Then, after the poor performance of the team throughout Wade Houston, and the other numbnuts after, the fans stayed away in droves. It was embarrassing to see many a crowd of 4000-6000 in an arena holding 24,000, not to mention the lack of a home crowd advantage as they were so separated. if you never went to games and saw it, you just wouldn't understand. Trust me this will be great and is an excellent decision. Who gives a crap what color the seats are?

And i guess you didn't read the entire thread. I eventually came around to the idea of what Hamilton did to the arena. I just wish that he would do the same to football as he has done to the basketball program.

If 100,001 means a seat with a chairback and a cupholder for all, I can live with it. Until then, it's just an overgrown high school venue.

You should be on your feet cheering during the game anyways...

If you want to recline with a cup holder, stay home or go to the movie theatre.

you guys read where they are adding 11 rows to the top of the South upper deck...on both sides of the Jumbotron? This will keep seating above 100,000 when they lose seating due to the West Club level seats starting in 2009. Which, by the way, will take my season ticket seats that I've had since 1982.:sad::sad:
