And I think that could very well happen. There aren't many guys who don't fit that description that would be willing to come.

I would be happy with guys like Kiffin and Kelly, who I think meet that description.

I'm not sure I'd put Kiffin on that list. He was a coordinator at the best program in the country, and he has NFL head coach, although only for a short time, on his resume.

I do think Kelly falls into that category.

Kiffin was 5-15 at Oakland
I'd say he's got some up and coming to do

No one is going to win at Oakland these days...

My question is why are we going after all of these former Raiders coaches...because it worked out so well for Nebraska?

i agree 100%. He is not comparable to Saban AT ALL. Saban was a college coach first. Gruden was only a college coach for 5 years. Also, Gruden is a top tier, successful head coach in the NFL. Why do you think we see so many more successful college coaches go up to the NFL than successful NFL coaches coming down to college? It's because almost all coaches prefer NFL over college. And Saban was a subpar to bad NFL coach. HE was better off coming back to college where as Gruden would be an idiot to come back to UT.

Oh yeah and not every coach is a greedy SOB (sorry about language) who only cares about money. There are some decent coaches (mainly in NFL) who would actually take the 2-3 million dollar pay cut to coach top tier players rather than be a college coach. Gruden and Cowher definetly fall under this category.

anybody wanna challenge me on that comment? Yeah, thats right, NO. Stop comparing Gruden to Saban because they are two totally different coaches.
