The article says he signed a revenue sharing deal with the school.....isn't that different than NIL?
Yes, but there is no revenue sharing yet.
Lucas hasn't gotten a dime of it, so the contract isn't enforceable.

If Wisky goes after him, he could potentially file civil and criminal charges against them for fraud.

My understanding of the situation is that Wiscy is doing something similar to what we are doing with their revenue sharing. Payments are to be distributed in season-just like the NFL per my understanding with a small stipend for spring/summer practices.

All that depends on House v NCAA being settled and approved and that's not happened yet and may not happen.

The B1G and probably other schools have some kind of "memorandum of understanding" they're floating for players to sign that starts revenue sharing *IF* the House settlement is approved.
