have their share of nuts. As of tonight we have some UF fans calling for their coach to be fired, we have some Texas Aggie fans calling for their coach to be let go at the end of the year. We have uga fans after their win saying that Smart is going to set them back for years. Fans just kneejerk week to week anymore, people don't realize how competitive the SEC is. GBO!!!!

Sumlin was in the hot seat coming into this season, A&M fans are just being reminded how bad things can get when you don't have a decent QB. McElwain will get one-two more years before Foley's replacement replaces him as well if Florida continues on the same trajectory. In the SEC you are't going to get more than 4 years to show improvement if you continue to lose games that you should win.

People act like we are mad bc Butch can't hang with Alabama. The guy lost to Muschamp and a 17 yr old QB when sec east was on the line. He flips out on simple situations and then says weird lies in his PC's. We are not saying fire him today, just saying we don't like him. Would you want to grab a beer with Butch Jones?

We aren't the only program dealing with big disappointment. How about Nebraska. That Husker fan base is a very proud one...and they do NOT like getting humiliated. Undefeated until last week..lose in OT to Wisconsin.. ranked 9th going into this game vs Ohio St. and lose 62-3. SIXTY TWO to friggin 3.

You can bet there are many calling for the coaches head after this one.

Any talk of firing Butch is not preposterous. This is yr 4. Team came in with tremendous expectations and Butch is falling far short. UT is a big time program in a big time conference. That hasn't changed. Getting lambasted by Bama at home by 39 points is bad. Worse is losing to an unranked, unheralded Carolina team.

The only issue is do you blame the injuries. If not....then he should definitely be on the hot seat. If you do blame the injuries...then he deserves some slack.

Georgia fans may be the most hostile toward their coach right now, the honeymoon with Kirby is definitely over.

I refuse to like this post, that said Yank you're correct. I'm throwing up in my keyboard a little typing this.

Looking across our offense, 2 guys could crack the starting O at Bama/LSU, Jennings and Malone.

Looking across our defense, discounting Sutton and JRM who have neither played much or recently, only two guys could crack the starting D at Bama/LSU, they are Sutton and Kirkland.

We are not where we need to be with our kids to compete at that level.

That's the problem with social media and message boards, everyone with access to a computer thinks they know everything. Half the posters have probably never even played football (except on PlayStation or Xbox) and have never coached anything yet they "know" how to fix everything

Yea but he halted an 11 game UF win streak multiple Vol coaches and players, some in the NFL now, could not get done which you gloss over or conveniently forget. Did you forget this was done the same season we also beat UGA? There's very few college coaches I'd want to drink a beer with but I'd share a spliff with Pete Carroll or Mike Leach any day.

Very amateur presser last week. Couldn't believe he was so worried about the woman walking out. He acts like he's too good to answer any negative questions regarding the direction of the program. A simple no comment will do. He hasn't got multiple NCs, and his team HAS under preformed all season. Injuries are no excuse for the loss last week JK should have had 25+touches.
I did enjoy the W this week and hated the boo birds, however his expression after was terrible, classless and childish.

There needs to be a trade system for hot seat coaches. For example UCLA could trade their coach who is on a down year to Tennessee for Butch if Butch loses another game. All contract terms remain intact. Coaches can re-set their contracts and fans can fall in love with a new man then vilify him if a championship does not come in 3 years. The good part of this is that member schools would at least get a name coach after parting ways with a coach and it would keep agents out of it and avoid Ineptitude from an AD like Hamilton.

Schools would have to pay into a central pool and coaches also to be part of the annual coaching draft/trade system. Member schools would have to vote on which coaches are eligible. coacheshotseat.com. would govern the hot seat ratings based on message board outrage and attendance decline to trigger a coaching change.

It's not message boards or social media. The same thing has gone on in barber shops, Waffle Houses, church lobbies, and around water coolers at the office ever since there has been organized sports to follow.

By your logic no citizen has the right to question or criticize politicians since we've never held office. Butch gets paid a hefty sum, provided largely by the fans, not only to coach but to be accountable to the University they support. Sorry...we get an opinion.

I am a Tn fan, have been since 1950's, when I can call the play 95% of the time before it happens something need to change. (( cause I know nothing ))

Except he is not 17. He is actually the same age as Georgia's starting QB. Jacob Eason is 1 week older than him. Both are 18 and will be 19 this month. In high school they were probably among the older kids in their class. Most kids who don't get held behind a grade are 17 and turn 18 their senior year.

All us fans of SEC teams love to boast about playing in THE ELITE conference... then in November we cry and moan when the murderous gauntlet of conference games has kicked all but one of us from the top of the national polls.

Membership in the SEC does not entitle any of us to 7 conference wins. It only jacks up the odds of 3 conference losses.
