I posted this in another thread, but wanted to wish all of you the VERY MERRIEST CHRISTMAS!!!! God Bless this Christmas Season!
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the stands,
Not a single fan cheered, not even the band;
The players were huddled on the sidelines or near,
In hopes that a new coach soon would appear;
The cheerleaders were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of pom poms danced in their heads;
And momma in her visor, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the field there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter.
The moon on the orange and white checkerboard zone,
Gave us the feeling - we were not alone.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a man named Coach Kiffin, with his family near.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Green! now, Jeffrey! now, Monte and 'O!
On, Coleman! on Berry! on, Rogan and Jones!
To the top of the goal post! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
So up to the locker room, the coursers they flew,
With the book full of plays, and a drive to win too.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And to spurrier he only gave merely a smirk.
And waving his visor to the screaming of fans,
And giving a nod, through the tunnel he ran;
He sprang to stop, to his team gave a hollar,
And away they ran like Eric Berry was runnin' after 'em.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he ran out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."
