Started playing this yesterday. I now have about 3 or 4 hours into it. Not sure how much I'll keep playing. Just not feeling it at the moment.
Shooting and aiming is terrible. Wait, aiming is fine, it's just that you'll only hit your target 1 out of every 10 bullets. I don't care if the guy is 5 feet in front of you. It's awful so far.
Respawning enemies annoy me. Stand there, and they will just keep coming wave after wave.
Pressing a button to pick up ammo on the ground is another thing that annoys me nowdays.
Graphics are ok, but nothing that's going to win awards. Neither are the framerate dips and tearing that goes on quite often (although it's not as bad as I've seen in other games; it's pretty much like the gameplay clip currently on the web).
Story is somewhat corny and a bit confusing. There's a ton of stuff going on and it doesn't do a very good of explaining things. Not a deal breaker for me, but slightly annoying. I also think it's silly to write a script for a video with cursing and then bleep it out in the final product. Guess they wanted to keep a Teen rating.
Killing civillians costs you money. I shouldn't say kill because that's impossible; more like hurt them. Drop a bomb on a bunch of civilians and they will walk away.
Not sure if I don't like the game or I'm just not in the mood to play it. Tried it again today and I'm still not thrilled with it. I was looking forward to this one and was pretty excited to start playing. But, that all pretty much died down after the opening scene/mission. Just didn't do much for me.
I'll give it a few more hours sometime soon. For now, I think I'm going to throw Tiger 09 back in.
Don't think I'm saying this is a bad game. I just don't think it's my cup of tea at the moment. I haven't tried the online stuff yet which may be pretty cool. I think they had some cool ideas and tried like to hell to get the game polished. But, I suppose there's a time and place you have to just wrap it up and get it out the door. After a year delay, they did what they could and put it out. I think they needed another year.
