I believe we will crack the Top 25 this week. Nothing has reflected we deserved it prior to now. Regardless of a 2-2 Murray State or not.

You never know. 95-78 on the road against the number the 6 team is pretty convincing..

I don't know where or when but UT should be ranked in the top 20 NOW! Don't let that big win by Dook over Texas fool anybody about how good the 'Horns really are. And UT just kicked the living hell out of them in their own barn. If they can play anywhere close to that level all year, they should WIN the SEC. They looked as good yesterday as anybody (including Dook) I've seen this year. Don't forget, a very watered down UNC team took care of Kentucky, UT's strongest competition.
I think UT basketball fans have plenty to be excited about. Even though I'm a Tarheel BB fan, I'll watch the progress of the Vols men's team with great interest and will root hard for them. UT fans who follow all school sports deserve something special after the dissappointment of this football season. I hope they get it.

The polls aren't always right.

After all, they had Texas at #2 before two huge losses, one of them being at home against an unranked opponent.

Don't forget, a very watered down UNC team took care of Kentucky, UT's strongest competition.

Kentucky is good, but inconsistent this year. Florida is proving to be pretty good and looks to be the favorite, LSU looks to be tough, Bama isn't looking too good right now but still has two top 25 matchups before the conference play starts to figure some things out and to get their young freshmen some experience. The SEC is up for grabs if you ask me. UT has a good a shot as any team but you can't base everything on their won over Texas. Remember, Texas was embarassed by Duke and had 2 starters out against UT. The Vols still play Oklahoma State and then Memphis in the middle of early conference play. We'll know after the Memphis game if UT really has what it takes.

I wouldnt count Pearl out just yet, he's an impressive coach.

I'm not sure the team he took to the sweet 16 last year was that much more talented then the UT team now. He did miracles with that team as well. He's a great coach, were lucky to have him.

I dont have high expecations. I know the talent is limited and is the depth. But I wouldnt count a guy like Pearl out yet.

Except for the Go Vols part, I agree totally with your statement. :p Too many Kentucky fans obsess in a sick, self-absorbed navel-gazing way, about why we're not ranked in the top 10, #1, or whatever. Kentucky was in danger of falling out of the top 25, which hasn't happened much, until they beat Louisville this weekend, but they don't need to be in the top 25. They haven't done enough to deserve it. Being #1 does nothing but make a bunch of 18-year olds suffer from swollen head syndrome.

Who cares right now....too early in the season. Let these boys play and around midway thru the SEC schedule then lets see if they deserve to be ranked.....Santa Clara beat UNC last year in the first part of the season but did that mean UNC just plain sucked??? I don't think so, but it also didn't mean that Santa Clara was a Top 25 team either.
