Let me start with thanks to the folks this holiday is all about, our men and women who have and now do serve this great nation. We are all proud of your commitment to God and Country...

I plan on ducking out of here at lunchtime to start the 3 day weekend. No particular plans, other than good food, good beverage, and watching auto racing.

Anyone got special plans? Maybe going to the 500 or 600? Weekend on the water?

Much of my weekend will be taken up by the preparation for my daughter's graduation party. The folks(Piney Flats) are in town for the event. Graduation is tomorrow and the party is on Sunday. We (actually, her mom) will be making all of the food for it. Finally, by Sunday evening we may be able to relax a bit.

So the college tuition is still to be paid. Bummer.

Mine too. :banghead2: I officially start going back to college next week and paying for it is not exactly the highlight. I will be interested in seeing how much I have to pay for the fall though because I can officially start not putting my parents information on the FAFSA application starting this school year, which is stupid considering I have been on my own, paying my own bills, etc, for a few years now, but for this Summer I get no aid. :realmad:

As far as this weekend, hiking and helping a friend move. Going tonight to a bar to watch some coworkers perform. Should be interesting...:birgits_giggle:

I'm probably going to splash around in the still somewhat chilly pool with my kids this weekend and play with the puppies.

My wife and I are getting a sitter Saturday to go see a couple of movies. (Indiana Jones and Iron Man back to back). That is a rare occasion for us.

Heading out in about an hour for a weekend on the houseboat on Norris lake. Should be a good one, food, beer, food, beer, food, and did I mention beer. Oh yeah, there will be some music thrown in there as well. Have a fun and safe holiday everyone.

probably more of a Prius person?...

Not quite, but I'm just being a good friend and helping them move into this area--moving items from the truck to the inside.

Is this the first time you've had a sitter with the baby? You should treat yourselves more often, I babysat for a family when I was in college before and I still do on a rare occasion and I'm happy to when they just want to go do something simple as running errands just the two of them without the kids.

We've gone out a couple of times, we just do not treat ourselves THAT often. I can't remember the last "grown up" movie we saw in the theater. The Da Vinci code maybe.
