I've tried to avoid visiting this site since the SC game for good reason. Assumed the 'sky is falling' posters would be out of control. Now visiting the site, I was right.

R - E - L - A - X

The sky is not falling. The team is not falling apart. It is times like this that separate the men from the boys - the wheat from the chaff.

Our team is really banged up. This is no excuse, it's reality. We just finished one of the hardest gauntlet of games in the history of Vol football.

It's gonna be OK. Take a deep breath.

The trajectory of the Tennessee Volunteers has been STRAIGHT UP for three years. We're just a few seasons removed from losing to KY and Vandy. Remember that?

Butch and co. have made this happen. Don't be a fair-weather fan and forget that.

GBO.

Wow..now that you explain it that way then I can see I was totally wrong about Jones being a arrogant hard head, Debord being a lost soul on offense, Dobbs being a great leader but terrible passer (#1 in turnovers in SEC) and Hurd leaving, (W/ KAMARA HURT) leaving us lean at RB..

..I was just wrong, thanks for setting me straight.

Considering preseason predictions I'd say it's reasonable for us to be upset. Before you blame injuries there's no excuse for losing.to a terrible SC team. The East was in our hands and we dropped the ball losing to the worst offense in the SEC. If you aren't concerned at this point I don't know what to tell you. I'm still a V4L im.still going to all the games but I'm extremely disappointed in our coaching staff.

If we win all of our remaining games, then you will have been correct in your post. .

It's "VFL", we don't need your fancy V4L in here. This fanbase is confused as it is... :)

Yeah, at this point I think it is safe to say that we have no real fair weather fans.

Being negative is not being "fair weather".

Yeah, i think all the fair weather fans jumped ship for Bama...disgusting. I even had one uncle that started following Vandy. I threw up a little in my mouth when i first heard that..

Well then my condolences...I feel for ya..j/k

I spend thousands on this university a year and I've got absolutely no regrets. Tickets merchandise memorabilia, etc. I've got a room devoted to nothing but UT memorabilia and stuff and I've got no regrets. Never will no matter what happens to the program. Been a vol for over 23 years, won't ever change! We all get upset bc we care. If none of us got upset over mediocrity then it wouldn't show we care very much. That's why everyone here argues, bc we all care! That being said I expect us to win out anything less I'll be disappointed.

Fair weather coaching and fair weather football can be contagious to fans.

I agree. Fans who are still here are real. Just fed up with taking a step forward and 3 steps back in yr 4

We are all fed up. That's what makes us real fans we want the best for the university. We will still pack Neyland

Bi-polar fans. This last week all of the coaches have been fired and most of the players have been benched on Volnation. Not sure UT has a team to play this week.... :)

Most of us think Butch has to win out. If we lose to anyone else Butch will definitely lose the fan base. It'll get ugly

Not trying to be negative but we just lost to the second/third worst team in the conference and it's a real possibility we lose to UK and Vandy this year as well. If we continue to come out playing the first half like we have the entire season we will lose to them. UKs offense is firing on all cylinders and Vandys defense is doing the same. Hopefully that they now have one of the bad weeds out of the locker room it will galvanize them to play up to their talent level and have some fun out there and smoke these teams remaining on the schedule but if you don't think we could lose those 2 games you must not have been watching any Vols games this season. If you haven't noticed UK is 2nd in the East.

I am slightly weary of reading that South Carolina is a terrible team. They are a much different offense with the new qb and the kid played a great game last week. Vols blitzed like crazy and he outplayed Dobbs by a wide margin. I admit that some games I saw earlier that the 2 previous qbs looked pretty bad. Muschamp and his staff deserve credit for bringing the new kid in and possibly getting bowl eligible this season as well as good defense vs. the Vols. Tennessee was outplayed worse than scoreboard showed - but give the Gamecocks credit for strong improvement.

I hope the Vols can get back on track with Dobbs playing well and the banged up defense giving it all thy have the final 4 games. Losing 3 of top 4 defensive tackles for the year is ridiculously horrible luck.

I don't get the "everything is going to be fine"post. If you really put the season in perspective, it's ugly. I understand a win is a win and that was enough for me but we could easily be 0-8, 1-7 at this point. With the preseason expectations and all the talent, it's just hard to stomach really. The USCjr lose just sent people over the edge. If we lose another one this season, Volnation will really explode. Even during the Dooley years and all of that, I've never watched a season where I was actually worried about every single game. With as much talent as we have, that shouldn't be the case. We should be kicking somebodies ass.
