I buy a media guide every year before the season, and I tried to do the same today. I found a PDF for the media guide on the utsports site, but no option to purchase said media guide. I did, however, find an option to purchase the "Tennessee Yearbook."

::scratching head...confused::

Are the media guides no longer for sale? Are they now printing (and selling) these "yearbooks" instead of the media guides?

Or am I just navigationally challenged?

I spoke with someone at the University today and was told that the media guides are not ready yet.

The yearbook is something new that is being sold in addition to the media guide.

Thanks, Freak. Any idea when the media guides will be available?

I'm sure the yearbook is fine and dandy, but I like my trusty old media guide.

I'm with you. I don't know when, but it has to be soon considering the season is upon us.

The media guides are out and available all over. The Bookstore has them, Alumni Hall does as well. They will be available on-line as soon as ESPorts (the company that runs the Tennessee Traditions online store) gets their shipment.

Until then, you can view it on-line here: 2009 Tennessee Football Media Guide - TENNESSEE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE

The person I spoke with must have been referring only to the fact that they weren't ready to be mailed out to season ticket holders. Not sure why that would be if they are available everywhere else though. I should have been more clear.

That very well could be. They were sent out to media two weeks ago, I know that. Just saw them in Alumni Hall at West Town on Saturday, no idea when they got them.

I have one in hand I got over a week ago on eBay and it is the media guide! Here is a pic of the cover of what I have!

You guys would not believe the restrictions put on these things. Because of new NCAA rules, (that is why only the covers are in color, so it doesn't give an unfair advantage to smaller schools) UT has now been limited to the number of pages the guide can contain. I know that the media were given the traditional media guide along with a monsterous printed pdf file containing additional info at media day Sunday.

they will no longer be selling game programs at each game. the "yearbook" replaces the game programs. they will provide hand outs to first 30,000 people going into stadium with lineups and players listed...

media guide is a separate publication to the yearbook

I read the free online one and then buy one for the collection when it goes on clearance at the end of the season.
