LKiffin: #Vols FR Greg King playing well, moved from MLB to SLB. Said Savion Frazier played great yesterday in scrimmage.

LKiffin: #Vols were too "defensive-minded" when he got here. Team needed more balance, offensive explosiveness.

LKiffin said #Vols FB Kevin Cooper missed yesterday with "slight concussion." Will be fine tho.

K Daniel Lincoln said overkicking has caused UT injury problems for years, but Coach Eddie Gran is stopping that trend.

FR TB Bryce Brown looking up to SR G Vlad Richard for mentoring and friendship. Brown picked a good one. I'll admit that.

C Josh McNeil said he initially resented having to recompete with walkon for starting spot but has come to appreciate and like it.

CB Brent Vinson jogging around. His hammy can't be that bad. Rico McCoy said he should be back in less than week with sore knee, too.

FR RB Bryce Brown: "I expect greatness, and so does everyone here. That's why I'm a Volunteer."

SR G Jacques McClendon said he's down to 310 lbs. Was 330.

All from West Rucker's twitter.

I got a chill when I read that.

Lane just spoke at media day and was pleased with the offense yesterday.

Said that the offensive line has improved more than any position on the team since the start of spring practice back in March. Credit it to coaching, guys getting in shape, and guys scared of losing their job. Jarred Shaw has lost 24 pounds and Kiffin said made a play on the backside yesterday that he could not have made in the spring because he would have been too heavy. Kiffin said McNeil came to him before yesterdays scrimmage and thanked him for not declaring anyone a starter saying he is working harder than ever.

Kiffin also said they are very pleased with Greg King. They are moving him from the middle to sam linebacker today for tomorrows practice.

More to come from media day as freshman get to speak.

Oh yea, Kiffin said Bryce Brown had a really good day yesterday when he graded the tape as did all the tailbacks.

That is the best thing I have ever heard. Could not agree more.

Same here! The thing is, with the changes in time keeping, teams on average have fewer offensive posessions, therefore fewer opportunities to score. I think the old philosophy of grind it out and control the clock is outdated.
