Uhhm yeah he certainly does. Think of recruiting, builing the team's momentum for winning a conference championship, and coaching up Tee Martin to step in as well as he did. To say that Manning didn't help us in '98 is completely absurd.

No it isn't. I give Manning a lot of credit for a lot of things, but you have to give all the credit for the 98 NC to the players and coaches of that team.

A lot of those players wanted to play for Peyton Manning.
Sure, a lot of guys may have wanted to get it done for those that had come before them, but I don't think Manning was some sort of a Messiah that future players built shrines for.

We have some around here that keep managing to steer this into a Titans/Colts debate as soon as somebody mentions Meachem possibly going to the Titans.
