McShay just called Berry a 3rd year sophomore?

I hope like hell Eric Berry stays after this year but if he goes that high you can't blame the kid for going...I just hope if he does go he does not go to the Raiders or Lions, I think its ridiculous they give all the bad teams the earliest picks in the draft, I mean I guess I understand why they do but its like they are punishing these kids for being good

The idea was to try to balance things out for the teams...letting them get the first bite at the best players. They could care less wether it is "punishing" the good players.

Then again, the idea of perpetually dysfunctional franchises like the Raiders and Lions probably weren't in the minds of the original architects.

That said, the draft does need to be re-done. Top picks are no longer a reward due to these astronomical contracts. The NFL needs payment based on the slotting system that the NBA uses.

McShay is woefully bad. He is a small notch above Lou Holtz. He refused to believe Stafford was going to to be the first player taken in the draft until a month ago. He has absolutely no clue what to think until 2 weeks before the draft when all the teams have essentially told him how its going to work out. Last year he kept saying Brian Brohm and Andre Woodson were going to be top 10 picks, and it was debatable who the Falcons should take.

Mel Kiper has to be just insulted that this guy is supposed to be his " collegue "

McShay sucks and steals most of his ideas from Mike Mayock. Espn needs to fire mcgay and hire mayock to give kiper some legit arguments. Mayock is a great draft analyst.

What does it say when the "king" only picks 8 out of the 32 of the first rounders correctly in his mock draft? Those experts don't know squat

8 out of 32 isn't that bad. It's not the tops, but it's not piss poor. I guess you've never really made a mock draft before? All it takes to screw up an entire mock draft is one surprise pick.

i saw mcshay's comments on eric berry too, he believes USC's safety Taylor Mays will be drafted ahead of EB.

with that being said, a little background on McShay, he use to run Scouts.com, and when espn bought scouts, they gave McShay a job.

when it comes to grading high school talent, rivals is far more accurate than scouts, and apparently, mcshay/scouts ability to grade college talent/draft projections isn't as good either.

Mayock is the best IMO.
But can you really beat up McShay for getting it wrong he anaylzes 100's of players he is bound to make a mistake or two.

Mel Kiper and Todd McShay are both idiots.

I prefer McShay, though, because he doesn't look like friggin' Conway Twitty.

Seriously, if McShay thought Eric Berry redshirted, then he needs to be looking for a new career path.
