He just said he practiced yesterday on XM First Team. Said he made him come out and get his throws in and corrected some throws he missed Saturday. Shouldn't he be resting/rehabbing the knee if he wants him back in two weeks? Isn't that also taking reps away from the QBs you plan on using Saturday? So weird...

Depending on the exact nature of his injury (which is something his doctors and coaches know). Him coming out and throwing a few passes probably doesn't effect his knee too much. The big thing is that the ligaments around his knee are damaged, which means unexpected lateral movement (read as getting tackled) could easily result in torn ligaments. So he can throw some balls in practice, but that doesn't mean he is close to being ready to play.

That says to me the head coach doesn't feel good about his backup QB right now. I mean he must figure Del Rio on one leg beats the alternative. Plus I read where Calloway has been downgraded to doubtful.

Worried if you're playing games.

why can't florida recruit 5 star QBs instead of having a walk on and a mediocre transfer from purdue?

Idk. Why would he close practice and then come out and say this anyway? Kind of sounds like he might just be blabbing to make us think twice about Del Rio playing. Who knows though. Gotta be ready

If LDR comes into the game on crutches and Florida beats us, I'm gonna D4H and be officially done with this team! Losing to the backup is embarrassing enough. Losing to a lame duck who can't pull a truck would be devastating.

Irregardless of whether Del Rio plays or not he is going to get hit and get hit hard. Even if we don't record any sacks the QB for Florida is going to get hit. No way around that. That is a really big risk but it makes me feel a little more confident in this game because no way you play a one-legged QB unless you know you are going to lose if you don't. That must be a rough clubhouse over there. Players guaranteeing victory with no QB coming into a mad 100,000 seat stadium!!

I would say the coaching staff will play him if they can, wouldn't you if he gave you the best chance to win? It's not that complicated. An injured Del Rio may be a heck of a lot better than anyone else. I am not sure it is the wisest decision if he has some knee damage but quite frankly most coaches at this level have too much pressure on them to win.

didn't we do this with Worley going into a USCe game where coach was ambiguous about whether Worley would play or not. Trying to make Spurrier prepare for both QB's.
