Looks like the fear of losing that civil suit has prompted Tony McDaniel to seek the big bucks the pros offer. Oh well, we'll be solid at D-Line with or without him.

I'm sure we can look forward to him getting busted for doing something illegal to embarass himself, UT, and whatever pro team he plays for in a few years. We should have booted him back when all his trouble started. What did we get out of him? He was a backup DT for one year! There was already plenty of depth. There was no legitimate reason to retain him and suffer the embarrassment his actions brought on the university.

Here's the article on ESPN:

I hate that it all happened the way it did. When the lawsuit hit the papers again last week it could have been legal advice to go pro. Honestly, I think McD really wants to get this behind him and move forward. With no source of income and a $800k suit hanging over his head it was only going to make bad publicity for himself and UT.

Hopefully, he can resolve the matter and make good on restitutions and judgments ordered by the courts and have a great NFL career. I wish him the best....but only he can prevent things like this in the future.
