Good for him! He needs to stay. Lose some more pounds, get stronger, get more athletic. He could be a real force on the DL next year and really improve his draft stock!
Another off-season of quality technique training and weight room bulking up/conditioning. He could turn out to be as menacing as Haynesworth/Henderson were.
Btw did anyone wonder why haynesworth wasn't statistically as good in Washington.....because his role was different in a 3-4. I'm a chargers fan also and one of the best NTs in the nfl a few years ago was Jamal Williams.....not because he was in the backfield every play, but the center or guard was in the back field every play.....Mccullers and couch in the middle will make for a disruptive force in the A gaps
