While it has been true that the team pretty much goes as Golden goes, to me the focus has been shifting to McRae. It has become more and more apparent that this team goes as McRae goes. Stop him, and Tennessee stops. If he has a poor game then The Vols cannot overcome it.

How have you possibly seen enough footage, stats, or articles to formulate an opinion when you butcher his name? Have you ONLY been listening to radio?

Trae's stats are misleading. He got several points in garbage time after the outcome had been decided.

It amazes me with today's technology that people spell their "favorite teams" players name(s) wrong

Until McCrae becomes point guard, he will not be a barometer of this (or any other) team's success. There's a reason many on here believe Golden is the barometer of team success for UT and it has to do with the position he plays.

That's definitely how it appears. Unless for some reason he isn't involved with as many possessions...

Whoever ends up being the backup will be critical as well. Golden had huge consistency problems this year for some reason so it'd be great if we could have a solid backup, be it Landry or Thompson.

As long as they're able to get the ball past half-court and minimize turnovers that'll be a huge help.

Honestly, Golden's just had alot of pressure on him these past two years. We've basically needed him to put the team on his back(especially this year when Maymon, our leader, goes down). Maymon's return will take alot of pressure off Golden as well as Mcrae's new found scoring ability. I think Golden needs to work on his body this offseason. Needs to get healthy and work on his conditioning.

This is the correct answer - Golden played like garbage even though he made a lot of free throws after the game was decided. How can you play the entire game at point guard and not have 1 assist. Don't ask Mercer's point guard because he had 7. Everyone plays worse when the point guard isn't distributing the ball.
