McCoy was cleared but decided not to play

It's an investment, his injury put him into a much higher evaluation mode. Without any post recovery data to base an investment. Where he goes in what round will be a wait and see mode and evaluation mode. I don't blame him for not playing, neither does the NFL but the Risk to Reward Ratio increased. He will get picked up but not on 1-3 round $$$$$, 4-5 is my guess for teams in need of a CB. IOW, a huge bargain.

Don’t blame him for not playing; on the other hand, had he played 2-3 games and shown the scouts that he was healthy he likely goes in the first round.

1000% wrong. It had nothing to do with that. There are serious concerns he may need more surgeries. His medical evals tanked him
Medical evaluations based on his prolonged recovery time and evasive behavior.. If he plays last year everyone wouldn’t have been asking why he wasn’t able to play last year. The few doctors who suspected anything likely would have missed the same issue that other doctors had missed.

Basing this logic off the theory that McCoy’s group wasn’t trying to hide anything and didn’t know he had lingering issues.

This is incorrect. Every player going into the draft has medical evaluations. Those recovering from surgery/injury are looked at even harder. Drs didn’t test because they suspected anything. They tested as routine. The only way McCoy or anyone else would know about the bone plug defect is with an mri. To add, if repairing cartilage with an acl, it’s 6 weeks of non weight bearing and delayed therapy as the body tries to absorb the implant. Without a cartilage tear, patients are weight bearing the week after and in PT. This is why when people say so and so “had the same injury and was back in 8 months”, have no idea what they are talking about. There’s much more to it and different types of tears as well as other issues like cartilage repair setting back recovery by 6 weeks.
If he had played last year with a chondral defect that wasn’t healing as expected he would’ve done even more damage to the articular surface.

Exactly. People can’t help but be cynical about player motivation I guess, but The MRI was going to show what it showed whether he played or not.

I have made my presumptions off how the news shifted from “may be cause for concern” to “red flags”.

Does anyone know if McCoy has taken an MRI recently? So far the stories have been “may need another surgery”, which is nothing definitive.

lol I’m learnedt on a handful of things and ortho is one of them. I’ve been in the med bidness for nearly 30 years, in 1000s of surgeries as well as patient postop follow up and know ortho docs doing the surgeries in TN and a few other states. Add I’ve had 7 leg surgeries myself, including 2 acls, Achilles, patellar tendon and total. Coming back too early is a reason why I continued to have issues and had a total at age 45. People should be more concerned about McCoy as a person and what lies ahead for him instead of jealous of his NIL money imo.

Man people would be complaining if a player lost a limb and didn’t play. People on here are delusional or stupid. There aren’t many but they’re the vocal ones for sure

Yet if it was their son they would think differently but they are anonymous and don’t know the kid and jealous of nil $ and ticket prices and too many losses so that’s what we end up with..total lack of perspective.
