Just think back to how he was manipulated and "hoodwinked" into offering Fulmer that lucrative contract being only two years removed from 2005 debacle and having to incorporate Cutcliffe into the program to win again. He needs to go whenever Fulmer goes. His contract negotiations have put us in this financial quandary.

Like it wasn't going to be expensive to buy out Fulmer before anyway?

why exactly are we in a financial quandry? Pretty sure a good hire for HC will more than make up for it.

I really don't understand all of the venom for a man that has done so much in his tenure, and will likely oversee the ousting of Phil, despite the fact that he does not control the football program himself.

The extension was a mistake and I guarantee he would even concede that. That being said, he's made a decent hire or two so I'm not ready to crucify him yet.

I think Hamilton has made one terrible decision in his tenure, several bad decisions, and a whole bunch of pretty good ones. Until the entire sports program truly starts to disintegrate, I think it's a little too quick to pull the plug on MH. Right now the malaise is just one program, but the other ones are still doing pretty good by any measure.

The thing is, in terms of income, the football team is the athletic department. Only football and men's basketball turn a profit, and football is about 80% of that. BTW how much does the Athletic department plan on making bc of the new ESPN deal?

But he was responsible for bringing Bruece Pearl to Knoxville.

Hamiliton lost credibility when he came out and stated...I expect this and I expect that...then buckles and gives this contract.

Actually the cost of the buyout didn't increase. He just set a reasonable bar for his friend Phil......eight wins. (Phil will be lucky to clear the 5W bar). So now he can, and likely already has, fire a famous coach at a major school.

Your exactly right, Hamilton did put us in this touch financial position. Thats what happens when you put friendship before business. Fulmer should have been fired in 2005 but he wasn't.
