Maymon = Pit Bull

Kid left Marquette because he doesn't want to play the post??
I think Pearl will have a great challege of managing players and PT this year. Maymon didn't transfer to sit, but whose minutes does he get? He doesn't fit the mold of a 3, particularly what Pearl likes.

He left because of his dad as well as not wanting to play the 5. He's not a 5, but he can play in the post and will add some toughness. I got crap for saying the kid will help us when he transferred, but I'm from Wisconsin and know Maymon can play. Just keep his dad at arm's length.

I agree.

Looks like he's lost some weight. He might be the backup to Tobias. I've never seen him play, but does he have any potential at the 3? But whatever the case, we really have a full roster. I expect Pearl to play as many as possible. I personally don't think that's necessarily a good thing.

I think saying he didn't want to play in the post is a little inaccurate. He just didn't want to play a center type role. He knows there is no possible future in it.

I agree. I believe he was saying he would be more comfortable as a 3 or 4.

Wait a minute, I thought Maymon was fat and lazy and would not contribute?

Did someone just make another completely retarded statement that indicates that they have no idea how to evaluate basketball talent?

Hat is on record calling him fat and lazy. You can see for yourself if he is a prophet or an idiot.

This thread is funny because I was saying that we would get Maymon but that we did not need his dad meddling. The geniuses in the thread thought we would not get him, and that we would get some of the other recruits I predicted we would miss on...

So because the Knoxville Clown Sentinel writes an article, it validates an opinion of a moron who spends 99% of his time searching for an E-hug?

Seems fair.

Imagine how effusive Griffith would have been with his praise had he seen Maymon play against a bunch of awful Euro teams.

Somebody started a thread on the football board talking about what an idiot Griffith is and how he should be unemployed. Interesting that the same person is over here taking Griff's assessment as gospel. Inconsistency and hypocrisy rule.

"Fat and lazy"

Those are not hard to evaluate. Let's take them 1 at a time.

Is someone who is 6'6 and 230 fat?

Does a player who dives for loose balls and who is described by his teammates as a "pit bull" sound like someone who is lazy?

Griffith seems to know nothing about football. I enjoy some of his basketball writing. I also enjoy regurgitated zagsblog posts and sage wisdom passed second hand from someone who "made it deep into the tournament in March."

Any off season report should often be taken with a bowl of salt. I think this kid could help, but I'll wait to form an opinion until he plays some games.

You don't value the opinion of a person who heralded the physical attributes of Steven Pearl?
