Seen where his dad was looking for property in the Knoxville area. That sucks pretty bad because this seems to be the kids biggest problem. I heard a lot of reports out of Wisconsin where his dad was extremely vocal and wanted to be completely involved with his sons basketball career(coming to practice, making comments through the media, setting unrealistic goals). Maybe the kid can play but I think this is a horrible move by Bruce. With the leadership issues already with this team, its hard to grasp that Bruce would recruit someone that left 8 games into the season because they wasn't happy with the role they were placed in so early in his first season. The only good thing I seen from this was that his dad would be far away enough not to get so involved. Looks like that aint happening though. 250 lbs in a uptempo style of play? Not sure about that, even though he moves a lot quicker than 250. I'm just hoping Bruce handles Tim a lot better than Buzz did and we might get to see his real potential.

First off, Happy Holidays to all Vol fans. This guy seems perfect for the Pearls way of coaching. He prefers the star system to a complete team and apparently this Maymon thinks or people around think he is definitely a Star.

Well he ought to fit right in, Pearl will have no way to control his dad, he has never been able to control his own team and now he has a pain in the but dad, this will get interesting.

do you constant complainers think coach cal is doing anything different with his studs? nba talent wants to see the court, and a good coach, like coach cal, lets those guys play their game. why spend years trying to change a good player when he's probably only at your school for a couple? it's ridiculous that you guys are unhappy that a big, athletic, potential nba post player is picking UT.

Agreed....let the kid step a foot on campus before you persecute him. Good Lord...ease up!

The kid is 6-6 and a swingman from what I read. Marquette was trying to use him in the post and that is why he got upset...lol another kid who does not want to play post. But it seems he is talented and will be an upgrade.

Sounds like a future Vol in the making.

On the bright side, we get another three years of a big man bricking threes.

I hope he ends up a Vol. Not like he can make the team any worse. This team has next to no chemistry most nights.

Call me an idiot, but I dont see us being solid, building a team from Ju Co's and Butthurt Daddys Boys

I agree. We shouldn't even recruit JUCO in basketball and transfers shouldn't just be someone else's not-good-enough players. JP Prince wasn't good enough at AZ and he's not done much of anything besides dunks and alley oops since he's been here.

Pearl must think like his fan club with the law of averages. You take enough leftovers, there is bound to be one good one.
I'm going to have to quit comparing Pearl to Don Nelson. UT's is becoming more like the Clippers. If a guy is a headache or a failure somewhere else, we'll take him.

I was thinking about the late 90s and 00s Raiders teams, but the Clippers is a better analogy, considering we are talking about basketball.

Why you guys sit around like hat groupies and take every morsel he shovels into your mouth as gospel, I don´t know. I´ve seen Maymon play and I can tell you I have reservations as well as see the possibilities. He´s not a feature player. Fortunately, with Golden, McRae and Harris coming in, I don´t think he will be counted on as being the star. Otherwise, I thought he did a nice job as one who did the dirty work, played unselfish and was part of a winning program at Madison Memorial (Whom my high school beat my senior year years ago, just to add.).

I think the issue I´m hearing is the dad, who is too much of a Little League parent. Maymon himself seemed like a good kid and could be a positive as an indian as opposed to the chief his dad want him to be. We´ll see. I´m curious to hear the commentary from the two if they are going to Knoxville.

Where do some of you "pre madonnas" come off thinking you know more about coaching basketball than Pearl. Does even one of you have any college coaching and recruiting experience? No! But you sure have negative opinions unsupported by any depth of knowledge or experience. Sometimes these threads make Vols sound like mean spirited and small minded rednecks.

It is a bad reflection on rednecks.

So let me get this right.... You love the way that we have players that could easily be NBA material but they dont know what ball pressure is and they just jack three's like crazy, you think thats good?

He also thinks Fulmer is a great coach. Just ignore him. He does nothing but post drive-by flame attempts anyway.
