Maybe we need to face some facts.

This isn't going to be received well. Most of us don't want to hear it, much less believe it. If we really take that long, hard look in the mirror, though, deep down we'll know it's the truth.

Tennessee is tarnished and we, the fans, are PART of the problem.

We demanded that a Hall of Fame coach with 100 more wins than losses, multiple SEC championship and a national title be fired. We ran a guy out of town who pulled us out of the gutter, led us to back to back 9 win seasons and three straight bowl wins. We rioted to block the hire of a coach who built a program from basically nothing, taking it to multiple bowl wins.

Of course Dave Doeren is the best we can get now. No big name coach wants to come near this job. Would you want to bring yourself and your family into that kind of environment? I sure as hell wouldn't. Not when there are other places offering similar jobs without that toxicity.

Tennessee is tarnished. It's toxic. The athletic department shares some blame. The boosters share some blame. We, the fans, have to accept our share of it too.

But it doesn't HAVE to be. A good motivated coach can change everything you just said.

There's countless better options who would take this job in a heartbeat. Kiffin being one of them

We were offered Kiffin with a staff of Tee Martin and Kevin Steele. Please don't go with the "No coach wants to come here" narrative. We're mad cause the administration is literally only interviewing the bottom of the barrel.

I agree we are toxic. Blaming on the fanbase just pizzes me off. I am a season ticket holder. I watched terrible effort against every SEC opponent this year. Paid to watch that. We've endured Dooley and now that.

What are we supposed to do? I think it's about time the fan base got a it's dander up. Our football program and the reputation of the school is being sabotaged. We are committing institutional suicide and we are supposed to sit back and watch?

All we are wanting is some Adults in the room to intervene and put some sanity back in the decision making process. That's all.

DON'T BLAME ME.

if that was the case, how do you explain the Brohm failure. Most fans would have been fully on board with that hire instead of the **** show they are trying to hire now.

you cant put any blame on the fans when we have been supporting of this team after the last 10 terrible years. We've finally hit our breaking point.

What is the common denominator in recent coach hires? Haslam/AD
What is the common denominator in recent Athletic Director hires? Haslam

Where is the problem? (HINT: It isn't the fans)

Dumb post. Butch wasn't taking us any where. Fulmer was going going down. We expect to win and there is nothing wrong with that. Sounds like you can't handle the expectations here either.

People that blame the fans aren’t fans.

I will never accept that it’s our fault if we get yet another garbage coach. I will however stop buying tickets.

9 wins over cupcakes while maintaining a losing record in the SEC and against ranked opponents with no wins to top 10 programs... But you forgot to include that when spinning your narrative.

#2 in the SEC in all time wins
#8 or 9 in the NCAA in all time wins

Are you willing to throw that away and accept being regulated to Ky/Vandy/ Miss St/ Ole Miss level or play.

I'm not and no one else should "just accept the fact"

The reason we are in this position is not the fanbase, we support, we spend, we show up.

Mike Hamilton and John Currie screwed the program with the Dooley hire and it's been all down hill since

Bammers kill trees and each other but Saban is still there. Anyone who blames the fans doesn't understand.

You're fooling yourself if you don't think college coaches faces the same scrutiny and criticism at any big time football school.

Some FSU fans are calling for Fisher to be fired after an 83-23 record and a national title on the heels of one bad season as an example.

Sumlin put up better numbers than Jones and he is looking for a job.

Doeren is having to fight to get his contract extended at NC ST.

If you don't think the worst record in school history and a .500 record against Vanderbilt isn't reason enough to have shown Jones the door, then you're the one who should be looking in the mirror.

The fans have been force feed mediocrity by the AD for the last 10 years. We accepted Dooley and look where that got us. We accepted Butch, now look at our situation. The University had the opportunity to make a great hire, and have failed once again. The fans are fed-up and the frustration is showing. So, don't blame the fans because the fans are just a manifestation of the circumstances that are abound on the Hill right now.

Our fan base has reacted no differently than any other fan base of a top (previously) program would react after what we have seen our program become.

Put an Ohio State or an Alabama through Dooley, Butch, and our 2017 coaching search clown show and see just how amped their fans would get. We are at our end

GO BIG ORANGE!

Jimmy Sexton handed us Fulmer's lifetime contract, Kiffin, and Dooley. And he took over representation on Jones this year.

That's another common denominator.
