Do you think that if both Maurer and Tua had played the entire game, would the Vols have won the game?

I think BM would’ve made it respectable but no, Maurer is still a freshman and would’ve made mistakes I’m sure. Tua is a seasoned vet with an arsenal of weapons.

I can’t understand anyone’s reasoning that the loss of Tua was greater or equal to the loss of Maurer. On the one deep, two deep or man per man per roster, Bama has more highly recruited players. The loss of one one each would hurt UT worse. I will also guarantee you that Bama’s backup qb is better than or equal to JG.

Sadly, no. With Tua, Bama is virtually unstoppable. I think UT would have scored more points... but Bama would have too.

Exactly this. With Tua, they would have spread the field more and our D would have worn down much faster. As it is, they had to run it and Pruitt was able to cover that better. Same thing if we had Maurer. Our O would have had a deep threat and given guys like Jordan more space. The only reason we had any mid field opportunities is because our RBs were able to find some holes and plow through. Still, very proud of our team.

Lol. Nice try. No way we get blown out if Maurer stayed in. Tua or not.
LOL, I just projected the exact pace of scoring that you are so proud of, for 4 quarters instead of 1 and gave us an extra field goal. I'm proud of the way we played but we got a lucky break that Tua got hurt. They got a lucky break that Maurer did too, if Maurer could have played the whole game with Tua out we may very well have beaten them. Mac Jones was nothing special, and neither is their defense.

Per friend of mine in Bama. Tua had surgery on right ankle this morning. Same procedure he had last year but opposite ankle. He might not be ready for LSU game

Does his dad give the belt for surgery?
Just kidding. Hate it for him if true. I think LSU matches up well with them regardless

I do not see Alabama hanging with LSU for very long. Bama vs Auburn will basically be whoever has the ball last.
Me either, that defense is not vintage Bama, at all. If they don't have Tua they are in trouble. We really need them to find a way to lose 3 this year. If Saban can't be king for a couple of years, he'll probably say to hell with it.

Could have a scenario where Florida beats LSU in the rematch for the SEC championship. That would be wild if Florida makes the playoffs.
