Matt B Shrine Bowl

But some think our DL was good without rushers or players who could control their gaps.
DL pressure and disruption is the cornerstone of any good defense.
I think our Line played very well and it showed most inside the 10 yard line. The problem was, we had Defensive End who were not very good at pass rushing, the Lbs were unable to cover the middle, and DB often miss the tackle when they blitzed. I can not blame the DLine for the other positions not covering their responsibilities.

Butler and Theo are on the west team

MB played almost the whole game. Didn't record a stat. Maybe a couple QB pressures if you're being generous. A lot of quick passing. Not a lot of runs up the middle so he wasn't around much action.

Theo hardly played and was at free safety in deep zone away from everything.

Shrine Bowl Practice Report: Risers and Sliders from Day 1 include Charleston Rambo, Bamidele Olaseni, and Darien Butler

reports from day 1 is he was the most dominant DL on either roster… CRG unleashed a monster in Matthew he will be very solid at the next level.
This dude quickly became one of my all time favorite Vols, this past season. I’m talking up there with Reggie, Cobb, Webb and Al Wilson, type 💩 here.
This guy is a warrior as he rarely came off the field and was a man amongst boys this season.
I really hope he continues to show out, gets a shot and excels in the NFL!
No doubt he will win over a bunch of GM’s in the interview process as well.
GBO!!

Thanks for the summary. I think the practices in the run up to the game are probably most important career wise. Scouts get to learn about players beyond the film they have recorded during the season. I hope Butler and Jackson made some good connections.
