Maryville vs Oakland (Best New Rivalry)

Went to the Maryville vs Oakland game last night at MHS. Rematch of last year's semifinals. Maryville dominated the first half 14-0. Oakland was unstoppable in the second half. They outscored Maryville 21-3 going into the last few minutes of the game. Somehow Maryville's defense came up with a huge stop (which was rare for them in that second half). Scored the go ahead touchdown with less than a minute remaining. Maryville pulled it out 24-21.

The last 3 or 4 Oakland vs Maryville match ups have been some of the most entertaining and exciting football I've watched in a long time. Oakland has some major talent and a good coach. I think it has become Maryville's most worthy regular opponent over the last few years. Look forward to that match up for years to come.

The atmosphere was great on both sides. Can't believe Maryville pulled it out tbh.

That was one hell of a game last night between Maryville and Oakland and i think there will be a rematch in the 6A Semi Finals. I hope Maryville players Tee Hodge and AJ Davis wind up playing for Tennessee.
