Maryville 3 tds over Hendersonville

Maryville is tough to prepare for. Most High school teams dont run that type of offense. I'm impressed.

Maryville is traditionally good against a wing-t. it is my understanding this is what the commandos run. I think it will be mhs by 14. of course, I am biased towards my alma mater.

Be ready for a battle. The Commandos are no stranger to being the underdog or playing teams with future D1 players. Hendersonville is well coached but Maryville will be their toughest test yet.

Go Commandos!!!

Rah, rah, rah, but that is very premature. Lots of teams thought they would be Maryville's toughest test and they might have been tough for a short while, but all folded in the end. One has to suspect that Hendersonville will follow suit. We shall see.

Rah, rah, what?

Read my post again....
I said that Maryville will be Hendersonville's toughest test. Hendersonville has played some good teams (Beech, Station Camp twice, Gallatin, Riverdale, Independence, White Station, etc) but I don't think they have played anyone like Maryville. Hendersonville is well coached and they are used to being the underdog but they will have to play some inspired football to pull off the upset.

Hendersonville is good. Maryville will have their hands full. I still think Mayville wins, but should be a good game.

It is unbelievable to think this is 10 straight title games for Maryville despite moving up in classification a few years ago (can't remember the exact year).

I think this will be a good game as well and could be a toss up. However, I never bet against Quarles so I'm going with Murrville. Plus, I'm pulling for all Knoxville area teams

i find it amusing every year that Alcoa and Murvul are considered 'Knoxville area teams' after the Knoxville teams get their butts kicked by either or both......I think we should refer to the Knoxville teams as 'Blount County area teams':post-4-1090547912:

Fulton is the best team in the state, period. Athletes, SPEED everywhere and very good coaching. Maryville is 2nd with one of the best HS coaches in the country and great , fundamentally sound players. Too bad these 2 teams can't play each other. Most years, I would pick Maryville, but Fulton is absolutely loaded this year.

I have a friend that covered high school ball in Texas for years and worked for one of the major recruiting services before moving to east Tennessee last year. He feels that Fulton could compete with the middle level classifications in Texas for championships.

Maryville's first 3 wins this year were against state champion Webb, state champion Alcoa, and state runner-up Knox West. Impressive.

This is exactly why I find it hard to pull for these two teams. Not all but the majority of their fans that I've talked to are the same way. And how dare any other school challenge them. You can't even say anything positive about them without this kind if post coming back. Play the best team in Knoxville then you can talk about Knoxville.

This. Similar to an earlier post I moved here from the Austin area. I got dragged to the "huge" maryville vs alcoa showdown one year. Alcoa won without throwing a single pass. Maryville needs to play a top level state champ from Texas, Florida, or ohio if they want to keep talking like they're light years ahead of everyone.
Not to discount what they've done. 10 straight state appearances is very impressive. But the opponents I've seen them play always have glaring weaknesses: a qb that can't throw 10 yards, 180lb linemen, etc.
