two legends in the coaching game with G Williams and K. Williams just doesn't have the talent he used to get. It will be interesting to see if they come on strong late in the season like they have been doing in recent years.

Nolan Smith has really stepped his game up with Irving on the bench. He's incredible penetrating to the hoop. Averaging over 5 assists per game too.

The Terps have totally shut down any attempt Duke has made driving to the hoop and except for Curry, Duke isn't hitting from long range. Gary Williams always has his boys ready to play, regardless of overall talent differential.

Field is open IMO as long as Kyrie is out.

Duke is big, but their setup today doesn't allow for a real post presence. Irving could offset that issue because he can get to the paint, but the rest cannot. They're the best team, but won't be as consistently dominant without attacking from the paint.

The Big East is going to be a dog fight at the top and any of those teams can make a run in March. The ACC being so soft this year will definitely hurt Duke in the long run.

Wow, I can't believe someone started this thread. Hopefully Smith can find something. I don't want any part of Singler carrying this team down the stretch.

yeah, cause I've never started a thread about a Duke game. I hope this isn't a glimpse of things to come for Smith against better competition.

As far as this season, not a lot of Duke threads. I'm sure not starting one since 95% of the general population detests anything Duke.

As for Smith, I'd bet it's a one time deal. He's been a beast during Irving's time out.

I don't know that attacking from the paint will be the biggest issue, I think it will be getting the Plumlees and Kelly to be better rebounders. That will kill them against top teams.

Rebounding will be fine, but shooting is just too fickle to be relied on very heavily.

Dawkins and Curry are both fearless from beyond the arc. I'm just going to hope you're right about rebounding BMFPV.

Very few of the top flight squads out there kill you on the glass. Pitt does, but has glaring issues elsewhere. Duke's boarding is at least good enough.
