heard on the CPF show after the game that he was going to be taken to the hospital for a bruised chest. Any news on him? He actually played pretty well Sat. night and we cannot afford to lose another DB...

we cant afford to lose his experience but we got some young db's who can play... Evans, Willingham, Vinson, Fleming...

Willingham and Vinson are the only ones who have played significantly. I don't know if Fleming or Evans has played at all. I would rather not have them start playing against Georgia.

well if we had a typically good defense i wouldnt want them out there either with the fear of them getting mixed up playing like they have never played ball before and it getting ugly.. but...

im pretty sure that if UM was our head coach he would play a lot more of our talented freshmen than what Phil is playing

If the DB's don't know the coverages, they shouldn't be out there unless it is last resort. Fleming isn't even big enough to withstand an SEC beating either. He's 165 lbs.

umm, so this isnt last resort yet?

No, there are guys in front of them who know the coverages better. Why do you think McKenzie didn't get a lot of playing time? He didn't know the coverages. He's from JUCO and much older. If he didn't pick up the coverages fast why would you think that guys who aren't physically ready to play anyways would get on the field?

o wait!, u mean to tell me the guys who have been out there know what they're doing?, wow!, that makes it even worse then... we may as well put someone who "doesnt" know the coverages, i mean it couldnt get any worse... all im saying is if we had put the younger talented guys out there then i dont see how different, if not better, it would have been for specifically the UF game... they put up 59 on us... and our db's dont do anything anway besides play 10-12 yards back from the reciever and bait the QB into throwing it short giving our db's a chance to come up and intercept the ball or make a big hit and that requires quickness and instinct, and from the reports on Evans, Fleming, and Berry (he's already in there obviously), they have both of those qualities

Fleming is redshirting. He hasn't traveled with the team yet.

Evans looked really good in the spring, but hasn't looked good at all in fall practice so far. I don't know why.

i was getting excited at one point about our newcomers being upperclassmen and experienced in a couple years when they have everything down, but i started thinking CPF will still be our coach so then i got unexcited

There is no way for you to justify you answers. They are not mentally or physically ready for the SEC. Evans is close but not close enough.

Willingham is older than Johnson is. Vinson would be in the same grade if he didn't go to prep school.

Well, technically Marsalous Johnson is a rSoph, so Vinson would be 1 year behind Johnson if he didn't go to prep. Kemp should play before Fleming and I don't know if Evans has played mop up duty yet so I don't know if he will redshirt or not.

yea but my initial point was to say that if Johnson got hurt then we still have some young guys who can play, they may not know what they are doing out there, but then again who does?
