This wasn't even his Senior year. Said highlights from 2007! And, look at what else he is good at YAC (Yards after Contact)! I know its just high school players, but I think he could do the same at the college level. Really need this KID next year. A receiver like that could make any mediocre quarterback look like a superstar!

'bout time somebody started a thread on this kid. I hope Kiffin and the coaching staff are recruiting him.

Looks like a good player that would be great for UT, but I agree with bburger. I just couldn't stop paying attention to the bad defense.

Good defense, bad defense, it doesn't matter. You still have to make the plays. And did he EVER!!!!

Whats his 40 time. He looked awful slow to me, but, besides that looked like a hell of a athlete.

Lol at the 5'6 125 lb DBs running 4.9 40s.

Marlon does look athletic, but wow, those defenses were so bad.

Scout says 4.5 but I kinda doubt that. I remember us playing them during Brown's sophomore year and we have a 4.53 guy that is much faster. so unless brown sped up a lot (which happens for a lot of people and did for me) he seems more like a 4.6.

But yeah you're right it is some pretty bad competition. My team (Ensworth) is in Division II-AA among a lot of the best teams in Tennessee, and there are even some bad teams in II-AA. Down in II-A with Harding, there is some terrible competition. I don't think that takes much away from this kid though. He might find it harder to just push people off like that, but I think Mark Smith will definitely help him there.

I'm more impressed by his agility on the basketball court. I know his future is in football but you can tell a lot by his footwork on the court. A bunch of football players who are good are so awkward on the court, but he doesn't appear to be. Looks like a pretty smooth athlete.

talked to a Memphis fan at the game Saturday, he works at a bank where Brown's grandmother does her banking and she pretty much makes all his calls and she really wants him to play for the dawgs, hopefully that will change but looks like we will be booing him next year instead of cheering for him

I know that the coaching staff can correct this but he carries the ball too high and far away from his body while trying to make plays in traffic. On a lot of those runs, that ball in on the turf in SEC play.

So you were in Knoxville talking to a guy from Memphis who works at a bank where Marlon's grandmother goes sometimes....

I'm pretty sure insider information this good is somehow against the law. :eek:lol:

If we can get this kid and a couple of the other WR we've been recruiting, we can win with Crompton as QB. We had an OC that wasn't worth a damn, so I put a lot of that on our bad QB play last season. Get Brown and Stokes signed and I bet Crompton does much better than what we saw from him last year.:crossfingers::crossfingers:
