He's owned 38 million buyout. It was to be paid within 60 days but Stoops agreed to let KY pay it over several years. Stoops wasn't going to walk away and KY wasn't willing to pay it out within 60 days, so they agreed on increasing the buyout period.
Mullen is making $3.5 million a year at UNLV. Stoops was being paid $9 million a year at KY. Kentucky’s assistant salary pool was over $7.5 million. That was 8th highest in the conference, and more than programs like OU, Florida, Auburn, and Arkansas are paying their staffs. If they wanted Mullen, I don’t think money would stand in the way. They can’t afford him. They’ll go with Stein or Hartline, I bet. I think Mullen would want too much for himself, staff, NIL. JMO
I hear you, but I don’t think they’re going to go that big and include the other stuff. They have a history of starting at cheap hires. Stoops didnt start out that way. But funding the basketball team to the standards they are used might stand in the way.Mullen is making $3.5 million a year at UNLV. Stoops was being paid $9 million a year at KY.
