Mark May, I hate this man

That's right brother. I believe Auburn would have had a great shot to beat USC that year if the BCS wasn't full of BS.
I was just stating the BCS is BS also. I guess the super educated Zona man didn't know Auburn was undefeated too.

BTW, kpt, Auburn's bowl win over VaTech was nowhere near as close as the score indicated. The Hokies never stood a chance in that game.

I'm aware, because I watched the game. Saying the Hokies never stood a chance is a bit overkilll. Also, the OU-USC game was actually more of a blowout than the score indicated, if you can believe that. Regardless, Virginia Tech managed to keep Auburn's offense in its place. USC could have done the same. Auburn might have slowed down the Trojans for awhile, but not for four quarters.

I don't have any problem with that, and I can't make an argument as to why Auburn shouldn't have been in the national title game. The only thing I hate is the mentality some SEC fans have that an undefeated SEC campaign should warrant an automatic berth in the national championship game.

It always hindsight, Milo. But one thing that doesn't make sense is the Big 12 Championship game loser getting to go.

The BCS has had its share of problems, I'll give you that.

IMO the first (and only) thing any football program should be concerned with is conference championships. Everything else after that is gravy.

You can say that but if my team went undefeated and didn't make the title game, I wouldn't exactly be in a good mood.

You aint kiddin... It's definitely more impressive than undefeated in the Pac 10 or Big 12, so I'd be on FIRE!!!!!!

I'm with sorta with you on that one. No team (see the '05 Vols) should think NC at any point, but for the NCAA to just "let the cards fall as they may" in order to determine a national championship is stupid.

LOL

I know the exact situation. You insinuated with your question on OU's record that OU with 1 loss got in over 0 loss Auburn.

I doubt they would go undefeated in the SEC every year, but southern cal is amazingly talented and deep. Every player on their team has NFL potential. They go 11 deep at runningback.
