Mark Martin to Red Bull?

I call BS as well for the same reason. That was the problem Mark had a few years back with the Army sponsorship, because his age didn't appeal to the straight out of high school recruits the Army was after. Unfortunately for us Martin fans that had to endure the years of jokes with the Viagra sponsorship, a company like that would be best suited for drivers Mark's age. That or the many age neutral sponsorships and teams out there.

Its blowing up all over Twitter right now, supposedly Jenna Fryer is saying its a strong possibility since putting Khane in the #5 would attract big time sponsors quicker. One I really, really, really hope this doesn't happen as an MM fan. I would hate to see Mark once again waste the last few seasons of his great career in a 2nd tier team like Red Bull.

I really hope Rick doesn't force him out, Mark and Rick have insisted that both sides want to keep the status quo in place till Mark's contract runs out so I'm hopeful. Plus the fact RBR runs Toyotas so I don't see why Rick would want Mark in something other than HMS supported Chevys.

I agree, Mark isn't the right "style" for Red Bull.

Well, if their "style" is winning than their current group of drivers don't fit the brand either.

Getting the car to the front of the pack and TV time leading laps does more for advertising than anything.

Not sure Mark could get that car up front much though.

i love Mark Martin, but the last thing i want to hear is an interview smacked out on Red Bulls.

Oh and Mark does have connections to Jay Frye and Ryan Pemberton from his Ginn Racing says plus Red Bull have been rumored for some time to be wanting to switch to Chevy. Being able to align and get HMS support and a veteran driver like Mark would do wonders for that team. The more I look at the more realistic it looks, still I hope it doesn't happen.

Edit: Oh and Mark was supposed to drive a Red Bull Toyota in the final race of the 2008 season and it was all but signed, sealed, and delivered. GM found out and had the deal nixed since Mark was going to be racing a Chevy for HMS the next season...

He might not fit the Red Bull image but if he wins and runs well it could be because Red Bull helped the "old man" out when he's feeling tired. It could be sold as the poor mans viagra(not that red bulls are cheap). They would find a way to spin it. If Red Bull switches it def could happen.

This would be the best case scenario for Hendrick, though. It would save him from transitioning Kahne 2 times and having Martin go through a lame duck year.

wish he would win a championship but rather him retire (again) than go to Red Bull ... best driver there is w/o a championship imo
