Marco Polo on Netflix

Starting this series last night. I am about 4 episodes in and am really enjoying it.

Haha, but in all seriousness, I hate when TV shows have gratuitous sex. I'll watch porn if I want to. T and A is one thing. Excessive sex in a bathhouse is overkill. It limits the audience I can watch it with, or recommend the show to. I'm here for the story.

I really do want to watch it though, i started the 1st episode but i stopped it to watch Fury.

Sexually situations only bother me when a show relies on it cover up flaws.

Has there every been a show that truly relied on gratuitous sex, and it made the show better? Only shows off the top of my head I can think of is Spartacus, and Californication (Game of Thrones doesn't count, because it would be just as good as with or without it). Spartacus took the expectation of a show about Rome having gratuitous sex (see the great HBO show Rome for a perfect example), and times it by 10. The crazy sex and violence was the story. I am sure there are other shows.

Recommending vulgar shows? My favorite thing to do.

Edit: I will give this show a watch, but my gut tells me it is trying to be the poor man's GoT.

I like the gratuitous T&A. If I want to enjoy a story, I'll watch porn.

Watched the first episode. It peaked my interest and seemed pretty good. Will finish the season eventually.

The first three episodes of Marco Polo was better than the first two episodes of Pinky Blinders.

I just watched the first 6 episodes, and I liked it. It is not 'great' TV, but I would put it on the same level as the show Vikings. I hope we do see a season 2, but given its price tag (90 million for season 1) I am a little unsure if we will.
