OK...have some fun with this. I think it would be awesome! The only problem would be that if Peyton's offense was really really good he could be hired by another SEC school and that would be hard to swallow.

Manning wants time with his family if he does indeed retire. He will not coach here therefore he will not leave for another school. If he does anything it will be politics in the deep south.

Moving on..

He will be a great coach, just like Wayne Gretzky!

Lets fire one of the nations best OCs and hire an unproven former QB with no real coaching experience!

How do you know he can coach? Big difference between being a good/great player and being a good/great coach. But it's an intriguing ideal. GBO

I wouldnt want to fire Peyton if he happened to be a terrible coach... I can see him becoming our next AD tho.

If Peyton Manning ever wants to coach, he will have the opportunity. As for having no coaching experience, he has been an on-the-field coach the last 4-5 years and is very knowledgable of the game. I have no doubt he could do it well.

If i were Hart & had a realistic opportunity to get him on staff, it would be QB coach. No coaching experience is the reason no OC. You gotta know he would be a head coach in 5 years. Most former players do a grad asst type deal before they have a coaching title, but we're talking about Peyton Freaking Manning. Right now he would be better suited for us than CJC.

I'd like to see him come coach at UT but maybe starting out as the quarterbacks coach or something along those lines. It's not like he is hurting for money, so its up to him what he wants to do after he is done playing.

Whatever Peyton does when he retires, he WILL NOT go straight from player to OC at any D1 school much less UT..
