Saw this pop up on social media from the Gamecocks 247 writers and holy s****. If even half the stuff in this article is true.... that guy is going to be out a job very soon! I knew their fanbase didn't like him, but my God.... (also, I'm very grateful for Tony V and reading stuff like this hammers it home even more):

Article is free to read, by the way

Just like Eddie Van Halen made ripping guitar solos look easy and effortless, that is what Tony V does as a coach. This is the SEC. It is hard to win every time you suit up and play. We get spoiled watching our team play with precision. That is a result of a lot of hard, grinding work. SC's coach should have probably stayed retired. His style doesn't work anymore

I'm more a SRV, Angus or Kath fan actually.

Holy moly....
They can buy a new roster, but if no one is leading them...wow, that is wild.

I know my sister was telling me that former players were furious at Manieri about an interview he did about Petry. Petry hurt his shoulder and was out for a couple of games. Reporters asked coach how he was doing and Manieri responded he had no idea that he hadn’t spoken to Petry in several days. You havent spoken to your star player in days about his injury? Really?

I love it! Not because I dislike South Carolina. No not at all. Because I despise Paul Mainieri !!! I don't know if I really want to get into here and type for the next 20 minutes to explain, so let me be very concise. Paul M. is a liar! LSU baseball fans are arrogant, spoiled, entitled and liars as well. They expect to win, and when they don't they lie. They lied about Tennessee back in 2021 when we routed their butts all season including here in the Supers where we sent his ass off to retirement. Then they lied about the fans, how they were treated, what was said etc. etc. How do I know all this? Well, one of the lies was about how his wife was treated by the Tennessee fans during the Supers. Lies. I sat, literally, across the isle from her all weekend. We got along just fine, and never was heard a poor word towards her or her husband. Never. He lied. I have more, but thats just one example. I have as little respect for him as I do Cuonzo Martin who lied about racism here at UT as one of the main reasons he left. That was a lie.

I hope they keep him for three more years to keep SC baseball down and out. If they (SC) have a brain they will fire his ass tonight.

BTW, where is Cuonzo coaching nowadays????? Missouri State. What was their record last year? 9-23. Cuonzo can't coach, but he can lie to cover that fact up when he needs to.

Idk how much of it I really buy, he’s not that far removed from being elite at LSU. Dude isn’t retarded. I believe a lot of the old school coaching stuff about celebrating and playing guys hurt, but not some of the more negligent things

I spoke at length with a long-time season ticket holder at LSU this week in Hoover, and he said that virtually none of the LSU alumni liked Manieri. He wasn’t surprised to read the recent issues and allegations at SC. He claimed they won with elite talent in spite of Manieri’s poor coaching.

Have no doubt about some of it. He’s 67 years old, 4 years removed from his last year, and his last 4 years at LSU weren’t considered great. Not sure why a program like USC thought it was a good idea to hire him.
