I just dont understand this whole career mode thing. I am a Falcons fan so I created a coach for the Falcons and my team prestige is a D and my team overall score is way lower than it is in play now mode.. I just don't understand. And I love that it is actually hard. I'm just frustrated cuz I'm 0-3 to start the year and can't do anything on offense

When you fire your original coach your prestige will take a hit. Hell, I won a super bowl and my prestige topped out at A-.

It dipped again when I traded away Vick.

You start off that way because you're a new "coach".

Just like in the real world, a head coaches ability affects players. If you were to add a coach with similar scheme to fit the players on your team and a coach with higher prestige, your overalls of your players would increase. But say you wanted to take an existing coach who has an offensive scheme of a Pro Style offense and put him on the Panthers (just an example), you would see Newton's overalls and other players whos fit is not a pro style offense, go down. It is important this year to not necessarily go after the best overall players, but to match the best players for whatever system you are running.

I just got the game a couple of days ago

What is this Ultimate Team nonsense?

Also, I need to figure out how to edit the Fantasy Draft 45 seconds feature because I was getting pooped on

Ultimate Team is an absolute money leecher in this game ; it's unplayable without spending more dough on card packs. Weak sauce

I stay away from ultimate team in this game and in pretty much every other sports title as well including the Show. They are all doing it

NHL 12 UT was playable - you could enjoy it without spending any money - it just took longer to progress.

It seems now that they have people hooked - they are forcing you to spend to get anywhere. @#$&%&

is career mode good? in the past, my roommates and i would get like 5 seasons in and move the team somewhere else. hoping for some more in depth features to keep it exciting.

i've also created a safety to play with

so far, so fun

Ultimate team would be alot better if you couldn't buy cards and instead had to get them through points you earn through wins and losses and the like. The current version is nothing but a money grab.

What is a good online league to join for connected careers? I got one called yeayea on PS3, but i'm the only person playing. Somebody hook me up with a league to join or join my league. I got Steve Young running the Titans and he is doing big things.

Check operation sports. There are a bunch of madden leagues over there that are very active. For ps3 and xbox

Yeah they took out all of the "Owner Mode" type options in the offseason. I was going to rebuild the Jags and move them to Knoxville.


I just now started playing this online. So far my record is 8-3. A lot of people play pretty stupid and I usually have at least 3 ints by the end of the game. One time I was playing a guy who threw 3 pics in the first quarter. Also can't believe the amount of people who play press coverage and leave just one safety back. If you have a good receiver just pump fake to move the safety to the opposite side and boom - TD. I normally play with Dallas and Dez Bryant gets an awesome release off the line so a lot of the times I just find him running down the field with no one around him.

I was 8-7 online and hadn't played in a month or two. I went 0-2 yesterday after leading both by 7 and 10 going into the 4th.

I'm still pissed off about it.

Anyone know a good defense to stop passes across the middle? It seems like I've tried everything but a pass over the middle is almost a guaranteed first down.

There are a few zone plays with a spy in the middle that would help. Cover 1 robber type plays also.

1-4-6 and plan a man 2 with bump coverage. Then have your two MLBs play middle zone. If you have a defense with the 3rd and 4th DBs with decent man and bump ratings, you will shut down the middle every time. Only thing is that it will open up passes to the backfield out in the flats. This is the best defense that works against people hitting the middle, but there isnt a defense that will cover every passing situation........thats by design though.

I've moved my online record to 18-16 last night after going 2-1.

I made a custom playbook that I titled "NCAA". All pistol, full house, wild cat, shotgun formations. I was using Redskins, Eagles (with Vick), and Panthers.

It was a nice change up from the old grind it out way I usually play.
