I am really amazed at the men's b-ball team. Such a huge leap in the last 2-3 years.

In my life I bet I have been to at least 200 men's b-ball games as I would go with my father who covered the team for a paper.

However, those were the Houston, O'Neil, Green, etc years. Don't get me wrong, there were some great games and players (Allan Houston), but the stands were pretty empty, except when say... UK came to town.

I didn't think that I would ever see a day that this much buzz would come for the team. Thanks, Bruce and players...let's make this a season to remember!

Being lucky enough to have witnessed games in the 70s and 80s I can tell you there was a time when there was as much "buzz" as there is now. It is exactly why Pearl has brought back many of the traditions Ray Mears started and were constant through the DeVoe years. I was a student in the early eighties and can remember for several "big" home games, we had to camp out in front of the UC in order to get tickets the following morning and there was just as large a student section in Stokely as there is in TBA.

Pearl will have job at UT as long as he wants. Never has there been so much talent amassed on one team. And his energy is unbelievable.

I wasn't around for the old days of great tennessee basketball so for guys like me (30 and under) the idea of UT having a top team is something that was hard for us to believe could ever happy. I have that feeling of being excited but worried that it is all going to disappear....I blame all of this on MJ's roomate.
