I just found out the guy who plays Immortal Joe was Toe Cutter in the first Mad Max. Pretty awesome.

So been on a big MM kick. Got my hands on Road Warrior and watched it twice. Got Fury Road and I've watched it (had it on in the background) like 8 times.

I'm totally blown away by how much backstory you can gather when you piece together the little dialog there is.

Also, Max's son died as an infant in the first movie. In FR, Max keeps flashing back to a little girl (5ish). Is this a random regret he has that we don't know about or has he gone mad enough to completely misremember facts from his past?

Cool thread guys.

But following up on my questions...I saw an interview with the director and I'm trying to make too much sense of the history of Mad Max. Miller said this isn't even necessarily the same Max, just a road warrior. It doesn't really matter where it happens in the timeline or what the backstory is. It's just anthology story-telling about road warriors in this apocalyptic future. Originally they were considering having Mel Gibson as old Max and then a young new road warrior, but then they changed up.
