Love them. Always hated they sang that song. Heupel has no abalama stink on him at all. Hard to tell what he would do if we got him fired up.

Took my parents to the racetrack today to get their 2nd vaccine shot and while we are waiting THAT song came on the radio. I quickly changed the channel and mom asked why i did that. My simple reply was that she wouldn’t approve of the revised lyrics I’d sing. ( F U @/@$@$@. And the Florida gators too. .... etc)

Love Skynyrd but SHA is actually a crap song and it has nothing to do with the fact that it’s about Alabama. It’s probably their worst song.

I know this is off topic but UT played Washington St. in 1980 and they had a QB named Samoa Samoa that was ambidextrous. At the time the WAVE was big and of course Neyland was rocking. Each section would stand up and then they started going in opposite directions and the section in front of the ones standing would stomp and it was wild. The players for WSU literally stopped on the field and they were just in awe. After the game we went to the Strip of course and meet a few of their fans and I will never forget one saying he had never seen that much Orange in his life and they would never forget the wave. He said at the time about 30,000 was the biggest crowd they had ever seen and that Neyland was more than they could ever explain when they got back home. I hope that excitement comes back for all of us on the Hill but especially for the young fans because the way it was is truly hard to explain.

Huge Skynyrd fan here. I hate sweet home Alabama. It is overplayed and there is more to Skynyrd than that song. Needle and the spoon & Mr Banker are my 2 favorites. SHA is actually a response to csn&y’s Southern Cross.

My two favorites would be Saturday Night Special or The Ballad of Curtis Loew
