Any knowledgable posters on why this LV team is non-competitive in the SEC.
How would we know as there is no media coverage of the so called minor sports at UT. I can’t answer your question, but a guess is poor recruiting.

They have good hurdlers, sprinters, and they have a great freshman pole vaulter. She's been setting records all season long. This is Coach Duane Ross second years as the new coach and his recruiting is top notch. Already got some good recruits coming next year. He just needs time.

Roster and coaching staff....That's a lot of people. The track staff close to the size of the football staff. Lol

Speaking as a track coach, the sport can be very compartmentalized, similar to football, but even more extreme. A coach for throwing events is doing a very different job than the one who coaches distance runners. Even within distance running, there's a distinct gap between someone who is coaching the 10K runners and the 1500m people. Hell, within the throwing events, the shot and discus are different deals than the javelin, too. There are a lot of schools which are really good at only a few events because of all the various specialties. The SEC, though, is the best track conference, easily, and dealing with LSU, Florida, Arkansas, and a few others is a tall task for any coach.

The most important need is an Indoor Track facility. We have not had one since the Stokely Center was demolished in 2014. An indoor track facility is the greatest need in our Athletic Department.
