Ah yes, another one who will stand by and say nothing when hat goes off into telling everyone how stupid they are and using every childish name in the book, but elects themselves hall monitor when someone deigns to use some of that same style.

Obviously you didn't bother to read the thread. Or do you care to elaborate on how I "elected myself hall monitor?"

And, yes, "snitches" is something that is big among those groups I mentioned and not among average people, or at least not the people I am surrounded by.

This coming from the guy who comes to the rescue every time someone is doing something other than slobbering over our players or our coach.

Hey, we need somebody around here to tell us how wonderful Renaldo Woolridge is when he has one of his two good games a season.

Hardly. I put my opinion forth when people decide to be a-holes towards the kids, like the Woolridge tweet thing or when it's about calling the coach "Tanning Bed". When it's just about basketball, I certainly don't try to "rescue" anyone for not "slobbering" (by the way, nice of you to use more hat terminology). There's another Woolridge post and you won't find me anywhere in there "rescuing" anyone.

Yeah, I'm a huge Lou Henson guy. I love watching Pearlophiles resort to outright lies in their attempt to fluff their hero.

Now that I know the basis of your hatred I just can't look at you the same anymore and almost feel sorry for you now. Let it go big guy, it was a long time ago. Things are going to be o.k.

With that said, I'm going to bed. Goodnight all.

Yeah, I'm a huge Illinois and Deon Thomas fan. That's the basis of my disdain for Pearl. Pearl's Wailing Choir has now officially surpassed the Fumer Criers in detachment from reality. Congratulations.

Again, and then you accuse someone else of electing themselves "Hall Monitor" when you act like you have to come in to set the moral standard in conversation.

And Hat, why didn't you tell me that you had patented the word "slobbering." I apologize and I'll get permission next time I use it.

You can say whatever you want, just don't be indignant when someone notices that you use the same stuff, or cop out on the fact that you do.

By the way, I apologize for being so high and mighty for saying something when somebody wants to call some 20 year old kid a loser or whatever. It's so much different than criticizing posters for trying to be the Moral Police against some people and not others. Then again, why am I not surprised to see this group understand the distinction?

Get off of your high horse. And what does the Moral Police thing have to do with anything?

Ah, and here they come to the rescue. Loftonforthree and the rest of the wolfpack will be here shortly as well. You guys are so predictable.

I'm here.

Present and accounted for.

And I still don't care for you or your BP love affair.

Don't kid yourself. You and some combination of Poochpunt, NYC, Krush, SaintPearl, BballVol, and JuicyBrucey; juice all all over yourselves in almost every thread.

I undertsand that CBP isn't the end all be all of coaches in College Basketball, but the guy has brought a level of success to the UT program that hasn't been here in a long time, if even at all. I know everyone wants to win National Titles, do you truly believe that CBP will NEVER get us there, or do you feel like it should happen within his first couple years on the job? Do you believe that he should be fired and the program should be taken in a new direction?

Again, recruiting great doesn't mean squat when 3/4 or more of the class is gone 2 years in.

Agree, but you missed the point of my earlier post about the caliber of players you get once your program gets on the map. I think we are and can be more selective as opposed to three to four years ago. You just dont get it. You think its now now now. Just like you didnt get what a shared title was. Building a program with top talent takes time. You just dont snap your fingers.

How will UF live with the knowledge that they were dominated. I guess they will just have to console themselves with those NC banners and trophy's.

What was UF's rich tradition prior to 2 NC's? Good thing that they did not have your attitude.

Hey dumb _ _ _ you would have run Donovan off in his second year when he lost in the NIT in the first round. Pearl hasnt gotten to the Final Four YET, but Donovan sure has had a lot of early exits (except the finals one year)prior to those two NC's. You are such a cherry picker.

In areas, he's great and has addressed a lot of needs that existed when he arrived. The actual coaching is shoddy at best, but he plays a style of ball that recruits like.

Expectations of greatness, without significant change in approach to players, will remain unfilled.

He's a victim of his own success to some small degree, but he was also lobbying for UTs full blown financial support. He got it and, regardless what most here argue, has made this a place that mentor coaches will no longer recommend against.

He can learn ad can shape his style like Nolan did. It can happen, but it's unlikely.

What does saying that out of Pearl's first recruiting class one remains have to do with me saying everything should happen now?

Whether you want to accept it or not, with the exception of Tobias Harris, every highly rated player that Pearl has secured have been players that the top schools have passed on.

Hey Dip _ _ _; you don’t know what you are talking about. Donovan’s first 4 postseason’s all trended up culminating with a Regional Championship and Runner-up in year 4. Pearl’s first 4 years have trended down with his best being Sweet16; and it is not looking so good this year.

Donovan – DNQ, NIT, Sweet16, Runner-up (Regional Championship)

Pearl – 2nd Round, Sweet16, Sweet16, 1st Round

But of course you don’t care, as long as we win an SECC every now and then he can retire here.

Have you lost all faith in Pearl do you think UT should can him and go in a new direction? Has he had enough time to try and prove himself here and what he's done isn't enough for this school? True UT did trend down last year, but it's not going to happen this year, it will at least even out, and with the class coming in next year coupled with the returning talent it feels like, to me at least, that things will get better

No. I have not lost faith in Pearl. I hope that he will be very successful and am willing to give him a few more years. I think he is a good ambassador for the school, he is very charismatic, and the media loves him.

I just get so frustrated at some of the things he seems unable or unwilling to address (i.e. lack of a point guard, shortcomings of his flex, lack of team discipline that shows itself in the clutch, etc.).

I also get frustrated at people who act like he is a coaching God and that we should feel honored that he graces our University with his presence. At some point he will have to prove that he has not plateaued or even his most hardened supporters will become disinterested. Face it. The first time you tasted vanilla ice cream you loved it. Having vanilla ice cream every day of every year would eventually get old.

I agree. Signing 5* players with serious character flaws doesn't seem to be the way to go. Character needs to be strongly considered in future recruiting. I'd rather have a 4 or even 3 star with good character than 5 star players who will only be here 1 or 2 years before their lack of character gets them kicked off the team. Would we have been better if the kids mentioned in this post had better character and were still here---absolutely.
