Lucas has been playing great this year, and with this past game's performance is leading the SEC in receiving yards per game. I hope he can keep it up as one of Ainge's more dependable targets this weekend against Alabama. Considering the questions we had coming into our receiving corp. this season, it is nice to see Ainge, Taylor, and the Vols atop the passing leader board so far this season in the SEC. It would still be nice to have a legit deep threat, but I am pleasantly surprised with our passing game this season all things considered. Keep up the good work Lucas! :good!:

Anyone know much about Taylor's injury? Looks like just a toe, but that may miss some practice this week.

Any of you insiders have an update?

Thanks -

Think what he could do if we could get another receiver to compliment him. Rogers is ok, but not reliable enough. Briscoe is, Briscoe. Taylor being the top receiver in the SEC in the situation he is in is pretty incredible and a very pleasant surprise. So let's step it up Kenny O'Neal. We need you.

He really made some good catches Saturday. Stuck his hands out and grabbed the ball. nice.

I'm as guilty as a lot of those who doubted Taylor had the skills to be a genuine SEC caliber receiver. Having said that there are a number of posters here who did much more than merely wonder aloud if he would be successful but beat him up mercilessly before he ever took a snap this season. There is a lot of uneaten crow on this issue. I'm still not going to consider him in the league of Meachem et al but the man is #12 in the COUNTRY in ypg. Congratulations to him.

I don't think it is really a caveat, at least not for me, the lack of a deep threat has not stopped Lucas from racking up the yards. It just makes me feel better to know we have one should we need to make a homerun play for a quick touchdown. Frankly, if the run game keeps progressing like it has in the past few games we may never need to throw the ball past 20 yards again.

Nah, he has too much work to do on his BLOCKING assignments and can't run a cerebral route like T.O. and Chad Johnson.

I think briscoe gets his numbers because defense try to cover taylor mainly ... rogers gets his turn too but unfortunately he drops a good number of them
