May turn out to be wrong, but I always thought he would just be a depth guy. Nothing special about his size at the position and it didn't seem like other big teams were pushing hard to land him. I don’t see how we don't land at least one more DT out of the portal that's at least on his level.

So we put him and the ATM d tackle on hold going for the 2 Alabama guys. Ended up going 0-4. Disappointing. We need big guys in the middle unless we want to convert some OL.

Want bigger more experience DTs.

Where are the 320+ lb DTs who has been in college weight room for 2-3 years?

Honestly not that upset we missed out here. We have enough young guys with potential on the DL especially after adding Gilliam and Coleman.

We need a couple of 3rd and 4th year veteran guys to round things out.

Can't win in the SEC with 18-19 year olds in the trenches...you need grown men.

One of the Bama guys was an old/edge. He was replaced with the Tulane kid who had way better stats. The Bama DT was the only one most people wanted. For whatever weird reason they were a package deal

We were on a list of top 5 disappointments in the transfer portal. Our AD is combining about how everyome is cheating and that's why we didn't do well. AP and Hubbs have admitted we haven't done well. There is a chance Chaz flips on top of that. If you want to spin that as not bad or good cool. I dont lose sleep over it. But this transfer portal was a disappointment.

2. AP & Hubbs said we didn’t start well…we’ve put together a good class since then

3. Chaz can’t flip, he’s already signed

I said years ago when this all started that this would be a train wreck - NIL, portal, open season on transfers, agents, etc. Some others did too. When many laughed and said free market capitalism is the America way like they had scratched both butt cheeks together and discovered fire. This is college and amateur sports, now we are in the early stages of a sports nightmare. Just wait until prices continue to sky rocket like were already seeing just to watch guys who aren't that good.

Maybe the market will settle this and people will eventually stop paying for it all but it is too late to close pandoras box and the players will always have their hands out now. Some will transfer 3 and 4 times.

Even scarier is that it's in the high school level. The unintended consequences will be when it reaches middle school.

The talent convo is complex.

While many players aren’t sticking around to develop, there is also a number of players that have opted to not leave early for the draft bc of the money in college.

So in theory you have more talent staying in college longer than before.

Correct. I think our staff struggles with the cutthroat “speed dating” nature of portal recruiting. Heupel is better with high school recruiting which takes years not days.

We have been stated as one of the best portal teams in this cycle by multiple sources. Our transfer portal haul has been very good. You are delusional.
