Check out Joe Schad twitter feed.

In summary he said it is competitive inequity that LSU has to play Florida every year. "If Alabama wants to play Temnessee, they could just schedule a non conference game."

Florida isn't looking so hot here lately either.

But it's a stupid argument regardless of whether one team is better than the other. Tennessee will be back and Florida has just stated their decline.

Ok? Just because UT has been down recently doesn't mean it's not the biggest rivalry game in the SEC, historically speaking. Pretty funny really, especially since Florida seems to be in a decline.

I would make a banner of that tweet and it would be hanging in the locker room.

...I'm not sure they're blasting us there...at all

It looks like they're just complaining about the required cross-division pairings again...something which about 11 of the other schools are for keeping

Just read the real tweet for myself and it doesnt read as an insult to UT

Yeah, I'm not seeing the insult either. I thought he was suggesting Alabama schedule us every year on top of their SEC schedule as though it were a non conference game.

Would it still be a non-conference game?

They've lately jumped a bit more towards the "only the division games counting" boat that Spurrier's been in all offseason

(though for clarification: no one but Miles has been anywhere near that extreme in their comments on the subject this week)

If we ever were to go that route though - which is extremely unlikely based on feelings of the other schools - then yes, it'd more or less be a non-conference game

bingo and as an argument for getting rid of the required cross-divisional games

I'd follow up with... "And sir what is your fine institution's all time record against little ole Tennessee?"

Looks like a backhanded slap at Bama.

Edit: I think it was an insult from the standpoint that Bama gets to play a "weak sister" and they have to play Fl (sorry if that is a Capt Obvious statement). Would be nice if Bama was year in year out the same strength as LSU. The historical record would be tilted heavily in our favor.

it is very much an insult to tennessee.

i am glad he tweeted what he did because we now have proof that it wasn't florida trying to back out of the florida-lsu series

Seriously, like LSU, or Florida for that matter have always been unstoppable. Uh, no.

What a little b!tch. Someone needs a hankey.

Probably some of that as well, since they're reportedly believed to be one of the main four wanting to keep such an aspect of the scheduling format in place

I believe per last report though, about 11 of the 14 teams favor it still being used

I didn't read it as a slam. Sounded to me he was saying if they want to keep that rivalry let them schedule OOC. But then again my panties aren't wadded so I may have read it wrong.
